Voice actor Kazuyuki Okitsu returns as Fat Gum, while Kana Ueda joins the cast as Monica Kaniyashiki. Both shared comments expressing excitement about voicing the characters.

Kazuyuki Okitsu’s comment:

Season 2 of Vigilantes is starting! We’re kicking off with the Osaka arc!! Since this takes place a bit earlier than the main My Hero Academia story, you’ll get to meet Fat Gum during his more hardcore, combat-heavy days! I’m super excited! Please also look forward to the sharp comedic timing of my partner ‘Kaniko,’ Monica Kaniyashiki! I’ll be playing Fat Gum again in Vigilantes — don’t miss it!

Kana Ueda’s comment:

I’ve been reading the original manga for a long time, so when I was cast, my first reaction was, ‘Ah, I knew I’d be playing Kanichan!’ (laughs). I travel to the Sea of Japan every year to eat crab, and I’m very confident in my crab-cracking skills!!! I’m recording my lines with my Kansai spirit fully unleashed — I hope you enjoy her debut!

My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is based on the manga written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and illustrated by Betten Court, which ran on Shonen Jump+ from 2016 to 2022 and concluded with 15 volumes.

The main My Hero Academia manga ended in August 2024 after a decade of serialization, with over 100 million copies in circulation. The eighth and final season of the TV anime is currently airing and is scheduled to conclude on Dec 13, 2025.
