The official website of the upcoming Black Clover movie, titled “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King,” announced on Dec 3, 2022, that Marie Iitoyo will be voicing Millie Maxwell, an original character from the movie.

Millie Maxwell is described as a researcher belonging to Magic Tool Research Institute, conducting research along with Sally.

The website has also unveiled the comments of Marie along with the manga Yuki Tabata regarding the role of Millie.

Marie Iitoyo’s comment:

I am honored to be the voice of Millie Maxwell. I am so honored to have been given such a wonderful opportunity!
I hope you are looking forward to seeing how Millie will interact with Asta and his friends! My hope is that Millie will continue to be involved in the story, as she is a very dependable character. I hope that this movie will be a platform for her to continue to be involved in the story!

Yuki Tabata’s comment:

Marie Iitoyo will be playing the role of “Millie,” an original character in the film! I am very happy to know that Ms. Iitoyo is a person whom my wife and I always watched in various dramas such as “Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan”! We look forward to seeing Millie in the movie!

Moreover, the site also revealed a 1-minute video summarizing Black Clover anime prior to the release of Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King.

Black Clover movie will hit the Japanese theatres on March 31, 2023, and will also be distributed worldwide on Netflix.

The film is being directed by Ayataka Tanemura, with screenplay by Johnny Otoda and Ai Orii. Itsuko Takeda will serve as the character designer, and  Minako Seki in charge of music. Yuki Tabata will also be supervising the film and provide original character designs.

Yūki Tabata‘s Black Clover has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2015, with its chapters collected in 30 tankōbon volumes as of October 2021.

The plot follows Asta, a young boy born without any magic power. This is unknown to the world he lives in because seemingly everyone has some sort of magic power. With his fellow mages from the Black Bulls, Asta plans to become the next Wizard King.

The manga was first adapted into an original video animation produced by Xebec Zwei, released in 2017. An anime television series adaptation produced by Pierrot, aired in Japan on TV Tokyo from October 2017 to March 2021.
