The Kaiju No. 8 anime series will conclude with a theatrical movie, which is titled Kaiju No. 8: The Final Mission, in 2027. The announcement comes after a conclusion arc for the anime was first revealed in December 2025.
A new teaser visual and a video showcasing the artwork were also unveiled for the film.
The visual features a mysterious giant kaiju looming over a devastated city, accompanied by the tagline, “The Age of Humanity Comes To An End.”
Alongside the announcement is a comment from Masaya Fukunishi, who voices Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8.
Fukunishi expressed his excitement about bringing the series to an end through the upcoming movie, reflecting on his journey with the franchise across its first two seasons.
“After the broadcast of Seasons 1 and 2, we’ve enjoyed the Kaiju No. 8 anime together with all of you. At long last, the series will conclude with a theatrical film in 2027!
Next year is also the year I’ll turn 32, the same age as Kafka. I can’t help but feel that there’s something fateful about reaching the conclusion at this particular moment…!
Until the very end, alongside my beloved Kafka Hibino and Kaiju No. 8, I’ll give everything I have to bring this work, which I love, to life. Thank you for your continued support!”
