According to the tweet, the chapter, which was originally scheduled for release on Dec 25, 2023, will not be published as planned. It will instead be delayed by a period of two months.

This decision to go on a break was taken due to unexpected health issues faced by the author and his family.

He, however, assured the fans that medical tests ruled out the possibility of COVID-19 and influenza, with the doctor diagnosing the condition as a common cold. Despite initial concerns, Yukimura’s family, including his eldest son, has since recovered, and everyone is now in good health.

Yukimura apologized for any disappointment caused by the hiatus, assuring fans that the decision was made to ensure a full recovery before resuming the series.

Checkout Yukimura’s full statement below:

Hello to all Vinland Saga readers.

I deeply apologize for the inconvenience. Although the latest chapter of Vinland Saga was scheduled to be published in the Monthly Afternoon released on the 25th of this month, it has suddenly been postponed. I sincerely apologize; the author fell seriously ill.

Indeed, the author and the author’s family were affected. The results of the tests ruled out both COVID-19 and influenza, and the doctor diagnosed it as a common cold. Considering that the eldest son had a temperature of 39 degrees, I couldn’t help but think, “Is that really so?” However, it turned out to be just a cold, and everyone is now in good health.

We really need to be careful about managing our health… I apologize for causing concern.

Unfortunately, despite Cordelia being in a difficult situation, the continuation will be delayed for another two months. I apologize.

Take care. Remember to gargle and wash your hands. Please be cautious about your health, everyone.
