Tatsuhisa Suzuki To Continue Voicing Ranmaru Kurosaki In Uta no Prince-sama

Suzuki has voiced the character since 2012.

The official website for Uta no Prince-sama announced in a press release on Friday, June 3, 2022, that voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki will reprise his role as Ranmaru Kurosaki in the popular male idol-themed anime.

Broccoli production explained that the decision to continue with Suzuki has been decided after careful discussions with all parties concerned. The website writes:

“After careful discussions with all parties concerned about Tatsuhisa Suzuki, who has voiced Ranmaru Kurosaki in the Uta no Prince-sama series, we have decided to continue to use him as the character. We would appreciate your understanding in this matter.”

Voice actor Suzuki debuted as Kurosaki in Season 1 which premiered in 2012.

Suzuki’s agency, I’m Enterprise announced in a press release in March 2022, that the voice actor has reached a point where he can resume his activities on full-scale after the hiatus due to “physical and mental fatigue” since August 2021.

Due to the hiatus, he was unable to appear at the Maji LoveLive 7th Stage event held from Nov 27-28, 2021, at the MetLife Dome in Saitama, Japan.

Last year, Suzuki, resumed his activities after the hiatus to voice Makoto Tachibana, in the two-part Free!-the Final Stroke- anime films.

However, the voice actor was also replaced in various anime character roles including his role as Draken in Tokyo RevengersKotaro Higashi in Ultraman, and Anos in The Misfit of Demon King Academy.

Suzuki was alleged to have an affair with a female fan in July of last year, and he announced his suspension of activities in August 2021.

At the end of the same month, an autographed apology was posted on the agency’s website saying, ” I am very sorry for my actions happened this time, and I strongly regret that I have caused trouble and concern to various people for acting foolishly.”

Previously, on May 31, he quit as the lead singer of his musical unit OLDCODEX and the band have also ended its activities.
