Shonen Jump + editor Shihei Lin announced on his official Twitter account on May 7, 2022, that Tatsuya Endo‘s popular manga Spy x Family has exceeded over 350 million reads on the Shonen Jump+ digital platform.
The manga has over 17 million copies of the collected volumes printed (physically) and sold (digitally) in Japan.
Endo’s Spy x Family manga had exceeded 100 million views in July 2020. It is the first series on the platform to have hit the 10 million copies milestone since the platform opened.
According to the recent Oricon sales records, Spy x Family became the best-selling series in Japan in April 2022 with most volumes of the same ranking in the volume-wise sales chart. The sales number is mostly boosted by the release of the anime in Spring 2022.
Spy × Family is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. It has been serialized biweekly on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ application and website since March 2019, with the chapters collected in nine tankōbon volumes as of April 2022. Viz Media has licensed the series for English release in North America.
An anime television series adaptation by Wit Studio and CloverWorks premiered in April 2022. New episodes drop every Saturday.
The story follows a spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realizing that the girl he adopts as a daughter and the woman he agrees to be in a fake marriage with are a mind reader and an assassin, respectively.
