In a recent interview with a French news site, Linternaute, Heaeun Kwak, the Creative Director of D&C Webtoon Biz revealed a major scoop for the fans of Solo Levling.
According to Heaeun Kwak a K-Drama adaptation of Solo Leveling is in the early stages of development.
“I can give you a scoop, a Korean drama centered around Solo Leveling is currently in the planning stages, so stay tuned.“
No further information regarding this has been revealed.
But that’s not all! Solo Leveling fans have more to look forward to, as she also revealed details on a spin-off Webtoon adaptation of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok, set within a universe created by Chugong. The screenplay for this project will be crafted by Daul, and Redice Studio is handling the graphic adaptation.
It is schedule to release at the start of 2024.
“At the beginning of 2024, you will be able to read the WebToon version of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok , the spin-off which takes place in the universe imagined by Chu Gong, with a screenplay by Daul and graphic adaptation by Redice Studio.“
Solo Leveling is a South Korean web novel written by Chugong. It was serialized in Kakao’s digital comic and fiction platform KakaoPage beginning on July 25, 2016, and was later published in full by D&C Media under their Papyrus label on November 4, 2016.
A webtoon adaptation of Solo Leveling was first serialized in KakaoPage on March 4, 2018; it was illustrated by Jang Sung-Rak. The webtoon’s first season concluded on March 19, 2020, and its second season began on Aug 1, 2020, concluding in December 2021 with its 179th chapter.
As of February 2023, its individual chapters have been collected and published into seven volumes.
An anime television series adaptation by A-1 Pictures is set to release in January 2024.
