Shueisha Launches New Manga Million Platform Aiming For ‘Global Domination’

Japanese publisher Shueisha has launched its ambitious Manga Million project, a new digital platform created as part of its 100th-anniversary celebration.

The platform will allow readers worldwide to access various manga titles in their native languages.

In line with the publisher’s centennial milestone, the project hosts a collection of one million pages of Shueisha manga translated into over 100 languages.

In a promotional manga released alongside the platform’s launch, representatives from Shueisha’s editorial department jokingly stated that their objective with the service is to “cover the world with Shueisha manga” in a bid for global domination.

The platform provides free access to its digital library with no user registration required. All featured titles will remain freely accessible to international readers through the end of 2027.

Developed as an internal company-wide initiative, the project involved collaboration across all of Shueisha’s editorial divisions encompassing shonen, shojo, and seinen genres with additional support provided by international licensing partners globally.

Manga Million was made possible through the incredible cooperation of these creators, and as we mark Shueisha’s 100th anniversary, we hope it will create new connections with readers worldwide, provide opportunities to experience the richness and diversity of manga culture, and inspire future generations of manga creators.“

At launch, Manga Million features approximately 400 manga titles. The catalog includes globally recognized series such as One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, and Jujutsu Kaisen, alongside anime-adapted titles including Kingdom, Oshi no Ko, Spy x Family, and Chainsaw Man.

The lineup also features titles such as Nana and Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You, with over 150 shojo manga series represented on the platform.

Nearly 300 of the available titles are being translated for the first time, with 50 titles receiving multilingual translations. Supported languages on the platform include English, Chinese, Hindi, Arabic, Spanish, French, Turkish, Tagalog, Korean, and Polish.

The series are being released on a volume-by-volume basis.

At launch, the platform features volumes 1 through 12 of One Piece available in 102 languages. Additionally, the initial rollout includes the first five volumes of 43 popular series, such as Oshi no Ko and Haikyu!!, available in approximately 20 languages, alongside the first three volumes of 46 recent titles, including Oblivion Battery and Kill Blue, translated into 10 languages.

Shueisha plans to sequentially release subsequent volumes for these series, with additional content scheduled to be added to the platform in the future.
