Dr. Stone: Ryusui Special Episode’s World Premiere To Be Held At Anime Expo 2022

The Japanese premiere of the special episode will be on July 10, 2022.

The official website of Anime Expo 2022 updated their schedule, revealing that Crunchyroll and TMS Entertainment will be holding a world premiere of the Dr. Stone: Ryusui special episode on July 3, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Main Events hall.

The Expo also promises exclusive access to news and updates on the series at the premiere.

The Japanese premiere for the hour long Dr. Stone: Ryusui special episode is on July 10, 2022. It will be aired on Tokyo MX and BS11 at 7:00 pm JST.

Among the staff, Yuichiro Kido and Yuko Iwasa will be returning to oversee series composition and character designs respectively. Horiyuki Horiyuchi too will be returning to the franchise as the main animator, after having served the role in the previous seasons of Dr. Stone.

However, Shinya Iino, who was the director for Dr. Stone and Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, will be replaced by Shuhei Matsushita in Dr. Stone: Ryusui.

The cast from the previous seasons of the anime, including Yusuke Kobayashi, Ryota Suzuki, Makoto Furukawa and Yuchi Nakamura, will be reprising their roles in the special episode.

Along with Dr. Stone: Ryusui special episode, the following anime too will have world premieres at Anime Expo:

  • Shine On! Bakumatsu Bad Boys! (Bucchigire!) – World premiere of first episode on July 1 at 7:00 p.m. PDT
  • Smile of the Arsnotoria the Animation – World premiere of first two episodes on July 2 at 11:30 a.m. PDT
    The following anime will have world premieres at Anime Expo:
  • FUUTO PI – July 2 at 7:30 p.m. PDT
  • In/Spectre Season 2 – July 3 at 3:30 p.m. PDT
  • Shoot! Goal to the Future (episode 2 world premiere) – July 3 at 3:30 p.m. PDT

The North American premieres for My Hero Academia OVAs, HLB and Laugh! As If You’re In Hell, and the first episode of Blue Lock anime will also be held at the convention.

The Anime Expo 2022 will be held at the Los Angeles convention center from July 1-4, 2022. This will be the first in-person Anime Expo since 2019.

Anime Expo 2022 attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) or a negative COVID-19 test taken 72 hours prior to the event. Masks will be required indoors (except in designated eating areas) and optional outdoors, regardless of vaccination status.
