My Hero Academia To Release 2 New OVAs

The first OVA will be screened in June 2022

Author Kohei Horikoshi‘s My Hero Academia announced that the series will receive two new OVA (Original Animation Video) that will be pre-screened in the Japanese theatres from June 16-19, 2022.

The first special episode titled “HLB” will feature an original story of a baseball league in which professional heroes and students collide in baseball with a special rule that all players are allowed to use their Quirks in the upcoming game.

An exclusive key visual for HLB was released featuring Gang Orca-led Orcas and the Shishido-led Lionels facing off for the top.

Details for the second OVA are still unknown.

Previously, My Hero Academia unveiled a new teaser visual for season 6 of the anime featuring the professional heroes. The TV anime’s Season 6 is set to air in Fall 2022.

My Hero Academia is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi.

The manga has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters collected into 34 tankōbon volumes as of May 2022. The series has also inspired numerous spin-off manga, such as My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions, as well as an anime television series by Bones.

Its first season aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by a second season from April to September 2017, then a third season from April to September 2018, a fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, and a fifth season from March to September 2021.

It has also received three animated films, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission respectively. There are plans for a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment.

As of January 2022, the manga had over 65 million copies in circulation worldwide.
