Yuugo Kobayashi‘s Ao Ashi manga will be on a break in the upcoming issue #20 of Kodansha’s Weekly Big Comic Spirits, which will be out on April 18, 2022. The manga will resume with chapter 287 in issue #21-22 of the magazine releasing on April 25, with a color page to celebrate the announcement of a special project.
The soccer manga is being adapted into an anime by Production I.G and will premiere on April 9, 2022. It will debut on the NHK Educational channel at 6:25 p.m. JST.
Ao ashi is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūgo Kobayashi. It has been serialized in Shogakukan‘s seinen manga magazine Weekly Big Comic Spirits since January 2015. As of November 2021, the manga’s chapters have been collected into 26 volumes.
In 2020, the manga won the 65th Shogakukan Manga Award for the general category.
MAL describes the plot of Ao Ashi as follows;
Ashito Aoi is a young, aspiring football player from a backwater town in Japan. His hopes of getting into a high school with a good football club are dashed when he causes an incident during a critical match for his team, which results in their loss and elimination from the tournament. Nevertheless, he catches the eye of someone important who happened to be visiting from Tokyo. How will things turn out for Ashito?
