Yoshihiko Hayashi’s MamaYuYu manga is set to conclude its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump with the publication of Chapter 29 in issue 19/2024, set to release on April 8, 2024.
MamaYuYu had garnered attention for its unique premise and potential, leaving fans eager to see where the story would lead. However, with the announcement of its abrupt conclusion, some fans expressed frustration, feeling that the manga had much more to offer.
While some fans expressed disappointment over the sudden ending, citing the series’ untapped potential, others were of the opinion that the story failed to fully engage a broader audience despite having good artwork and paneling.
Criticism was also directed towards Weekly Shonen Jump’s fast-paced nature, with fans highlighting the challenges faced by authors in capturing and retaining audience interest within a limited time frame. Some fans also called for Hayashi to explore opportunities in other publications, believing that his talent as a writer deserves a platform where his stories can flourish.
MamaYuYu is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiko Hayashi. It started serializing in Weekly Shonen Jump on Sep 10, 2023.
