Prime Video revealed on Dec 13, 2023 that Anime Times, a dedicated channel which focuses on streaming anime, has premiered exclusively on Prime Video Channels in India.
Anime Times will have an add-on subscription price just like other Prime Video Channels, and will be available for Prime members at an annual fee of ₹899 per year.
Anime Times is a company formed by 13 content rights holders including prominent Japanese publishers and anime studios like Avex Pictures, Kodansha, Shueisha, and Shogakukan. It initially debuted on Amazon Prime Japan in 2021, with the slogan “Anytime you want, enjoy your Anime time.”
Anime Times subscribers in India will get access to both latest and classic anime shows like SPY×FAMILY, Kaguya Sama, Assassination Classroom, JoJo, One Punch Man, Mushoku Tensei, HUNTER x HUNTER, Tokyo Revengers, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Mob Psycho 100, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Goblin Slayer, Zombieland Saga, and more.
“Over the past few years, anime content has gained significant fandom in India. With the launch of Anime Times on Prime Video Channels, we are expanding our anime programming with over hundreds of hours of programming and bringing highly engaging movies and TV shows for Prime Members,” Vivek Srivastava, head – Prime Video Channels, Prime Video, India said.
“Anime Times will be available for the first time in India only on Prime Video Channels. With this launch Prime Video Channels will become the ‘one-stop entertainment destination’ for all Anime fans in the country. Anime Times has been a premier destination for some of the best Anime content, as a Channel on Prime Video in Japan, and we are thrilled to be the launchpad for them in India, and offer them wide reach to customers across the country,” he added.

Prime Video Channels is an add-on service on Prime Video, which lets members enjoy content from multiple streaming services including HBO Max, Discovery+, Starz, Showtime, and Paramount+, at an additional subscription fee.
