The Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Arc anime is creating a hype across all anime fandoms which was never seen before for new gen anime except maybe with the exception of Attack On Titan and Demon Slayer. Thus, proving why Bleach is one of the Big 3.
However, we are here to talk about the episode 5 of Bleach TYBW anime and the scene where a mysterious figure with a zanpakutou saved gravely injured Chad, Orihime, Nel and Kisuke Urahara. You too had this question in your mind, didn’t you?
So without further wait let us jump right into it. Beware, manga spoilers ahead.
Who Killed Quilge Opie & Saved Urahara, Orihime, Chad & Nel In Hueco Mundo In Bleach TYBW?
Long story short, Quilge Opie is killed by and the one who saved Urahara, Orihime, Chad & Nel In Hueco Mundo during Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Arc is none other than one of our previously introduced and fan favourite character Grimmjoww Jaegerjaquez the sixth Espada from the Aizen army!
Yes, you read that right! Grimmjoww is alive and stronger than before. But you must be thinking,
How did Grimmjoww survive his battle with Ichigo during the Arrancar arc in Bleach?
Well during their battle Ichigo and Grimmjoww were almost on equal footing with each other and when they clashed their swords during their climax, we just see Ichigo dealing a near fatal blow to Grimmjoww who then falls to the ground and becomes unable to fight. However, we never see Ichigo kill him as it is not in our MC’s nature to kill unnecessarily.
However, we do see Nnoitara impale Grimmjoww and the latter just falls into the dust in Hueco Mundo post which it is presumed that he is dead. Although, he survives and heals and trains himself post the Arrancar Arc and Fake Karakura Town arc.
After this, Grimmjoww is nowhere to be seen until the battle against Askin Nakk Le Vaar, one of the Sternritter and Schutzstaffel of Yhwach’s Army.
Grimmjoww first attacks Askin but is poisoned by the latter and left to die.
However, during the battle between Askin and Urahara, the latter not only fights the former he also simultaneously heals Grimmjoww thinking his hollow reiatsu could come handy against Quincies.
Urahara then creates an opening for Grimmjoww to take down the quincy and rip his heart out. This prompts, Askin to say that he now understands why Yhwach considered Urahara to be one of the 5 special war threats.
The hollow-king does as told, however, in his final attempt Askin plants another one of his “Gift Ball” bomb and the whereabouts of Grimmjoww post this are still unknown.
However, as per the newly and recently released one-shot manga by Tite Kubo called Bleach: Hell Arc, Urahara Kisuke is shown to have joined the Gotei 13 once again and is helping the soul society by making it technologically advanced. Although, no information on Grimmjoww’s survival is given though we can assume that the hollow lived that day in the battle against Askin.
Let us hope, Grimmjoww actually survived that battle and did not join many captains in hell post Bleach TYBW arc.
