Shihei Lin, manga editor for Shonen Jump +, revealed in a tweet on April 3, 2022, that Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto will release a new one shot that will be 200 pages long on Monday, April 11, 2022.
Additional details about the one shot will be revealed as the release date of the manga approaches.
“Thank you for waiting. Tatsuki Fujimoto’s completely new one-shot will be delivered on April 11th next Monday. A 200-page feature film will be delivered at once. We would appreciate it if you could give us your time for this work. Details will be announced when the delivery date is approaching. Thank you,” Lin wrote in his tweet.
Recently, a Chainsaw Man illustration at the Tatsuki Fujimoto exhibition in Angoulême International Comics Festival revealed that the author wanted to create something revolving around the theme of “femme fatale” in his next manga, as he loved the image of a woman who destroyed everything in her path.
Fujimoto published his first serialized manga, Fire Punch, in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ online magazine. It began serialization on April 18, 2016 and was collected into eight tankobon volumes.
The author’s second major work Chainsaw Man, began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from Dec 3, 2018. The manga won the Kono Manga Sugoi award and the Harvey award. The part two of the series will be releasing this summer.
Fujimoto is an author who has not shied away from creating one-shots and short stories. In fact, he had focused on doing more one shots before the second installation of Chainsaw Man released, publishing Look Back and working on the current one.
