The official website of One Piece announced on March 21, 2024, that the manga will be going on a three week break starting from Weekly Shonen Jump issue #18 releasing on April 1, 2024, to issue #20, which will release on April 15, 2024.

The manga will resume serialization in the magazine’s issue #21 that will release on April 22, 2024.

The website also shared a message from Eiichiro Oda regarding the hiatus, expressing concern that recent passing away of Akira Toriyama may have caused undue worry among fans. He clarified that his absence is not due to illness but rather related to his physical well-being. He requested that fans consider it as a form of maintenance.

In addition to this, Oda also mentioned that he also has to think about what on earth One Piece is during this brief break.

Echiro Oda Message One Piece

Translation of the message can be read below:

I’m taking a break!! Alright, I’ll take three weeks off. Recently, due to Toriyama-sensei’s incident, I’m afraid I might be causing excessive worry, but it’s not an illness. However, it’s related to my physical condition. Please think of it as maintenance.

Also, I have to think about what on earth ONE PIECE is! I’m busy. During the break, for those who don’t know the backstory of the characters appearing in the Egghead arc, here’s something for you: “Jump+” is offering free access to past episodes from April 2 to April 21 on “Zebrack,” so check it out! Also, the live-action version of ONE PIECE is now streaming on Netflix, and my old one-shot manga “Monsters” is being adapted into an anime, so please watch it. On YouTube, all episodes of “Anytime ONEPIECE” are available for the 8th week! It’s funny! (It’s moving to Tik Tok from March 23). See you in three weeks in “Jump”!!!
