Netflix Unveils Its Spring 2026 Anime Slate Featuring Dorohedoro, One Piece & Akane Banashi

Netflix's Spring 2026 anime slate ft. One Piece Elbaf arc, Dorohedoro and Akane Banashi

Netflix has officially announced its anime slate for the Spring 2026 season, which includes both highly anticipated new hits, while some older series have also been acquired.

The Spring 2026 on Netflix is led by Dorohedoro Season 2 and One Piece: Elbaph arc. Dorohedoro anime is returning after period of six-year since its initial debut, and naturally the expectations are quite high for the dark-supernatural title. The second season begins airing on April 2 on the platform.

Meanwhile, Elbaf arc marks a brand new era for the One Piece franchise, which will be shifting from its year round weekly episodes to a seasonal format. Once again, the anticipation for the anime’s return is quite high and anime watching userbase on Netflix will surely be looking forward to its release.

However, there is a catch here. Like always, Netflix will be streaming the latest One Piece episodes a week after their original release in Japan, meaning the new episodes will hit the platform starting April 11, 2026.

New additions to the platform also include Dandelion, which is based on the manga by Gintama creator Hideaki Sorachi and scheduled to begin airing on April 16, the rakugo-centered series Akane-banashi, which is set to begin streaming in May, and also the new series The Ramparts of Ice, which starts streaming on April 2, 2026.

Netflix Adds Some Classic Anime Titles To Its Roster This April

To supplement these new releases, the streamer is adding several previous seasons of popular anime to its North American library throughout the quarter. These new acquisitions are listed below:

  • Spy x Family Season 3 (April 4)
  • Blue Lock Season 1 (April 25)
  • My Dress-Up Darling Season 1 (April 25)
  • Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (May 1)
  • Assassination Classroom Season 1 (May 1)
  • Shangri-La Frontier Season 1 (May 1)
  • Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom (May 10)

While Netflix has streamed Jujutsu Kaisen Seasons 2 and 3 in parts of Asia, including India, it was unavailable to watch for the subscribers in North America. This new addition will help plug the gap the series has, with hopes that the third season too will be added to their catalogue soon. The same goes for Spy x Family Season 3 too.

Meanwhile Blue Lock and My Dress up Darling are entirely new acquisitions, and should be available to stream for audiences in both North America and other regions.

Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure: Steel Ball Run was seen as the biggest title to stream on Netflix this March and then continuing into Spring. However, the series simply aired a special Stage 1 episode, which was 47 minutes long. A new trailer for the Stage 2 episode was streamed at AnimeJapan 2026, however, no concrete release date has been revealed yet.

The expansion of the anime catalog coincides with internal data indicating that more than half of all Netflix subscribers engage with anime content on the platform. To support this global audience, the company is making its films and series available in 33 languages and providing audio descriptions for its titles.
