Kaguya Sama To Get A New Anime Movie This Winter

It will be the first ever anime movie that the franchise will receive.

Kaguya Sama: Love is War is set to receive a new anime movie centering on the “The First Kiss Never Ends Arc” following the events of season 3.

The movie is titled Kaguya sama wa Kokurasetai: First Kiss wa Owaranai (Kaguya-sama: Love is War: The First Kiss Never Ends)

The new anime movie, also the first ever anime movie for the series, will be released around Christmas this year.

Like the previous seasons, A-1 Pictures will be in charge of animating the movie. A-1 Picutes’ producer Kenshiro Yamada said that the events of arc in question will only take up about two hours of screen time and it made sense for it to be made into a movie.

The key cast from previous seasons will be returning to reprise their role in the movie. Character Designer and animation director Yuko Yahiro too is set to return as a staff member for the upcoming Kaguya Sama movie.

It was earlier confirmed by the official website that Kaguya Sama would be getting a new anime project. However, no further information was revealed.

The final episode of Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai -Ultra Romantic- aired on Friday, June 24. It was an hour long episode, a first of its kind for the series.

Kaguya Sama Season 3 started airing on April 8, 2022. It was broadcast on TOKYO MX, BS11 and ABEMA.

The 3rd season also climbed the ladder to become the top rated anime in MyAnimeList, with an average rating of 9.16 and over 500,000 members. The series overtook Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which has an average rating of 9.13.

Kaguya Sama: Love Is War is a manga series written and illustrated by Aka Akasaka. It began serialization in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Miracle Jump in May 2015 and was transferred to Weekly Young Jump in March 2016.

The manga officially entered the final arc in the 45th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump. It currently has 17 million copies in circulation.

A 12-episode anime television series adaptation by A-1 Pictures aired in Japan from January to March 2019. A second season aired from April to June 2020. An OVA episode was released in 2021.

The anime also be got its first ever special exhibition starting April 29, 2022, to celebrate the release of Season 3.
