Issue# 15 of Captain Tsubasa magazine, which released on Jan 5, 2023, announced that Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun manga will enter its final arc from issue# 16 of the magazine.

Issue# 16 will release in April 2023.

Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun manga was first launched on Dec 28, 2013, and ran till 2019 in Grand Jump magazine. It was later shifted in 2020 to Captain Tsubasa magazine.

The manga has over 17 volumes published as of August 2022.

After the Japanese team classified to the Olympics in Madrid, the story covers the beginning of Olympic football tournament. The Japanese team is now at full force with the addition of the overseas players Tsubasa, Hyuga and Aoi, while Akai declines to join due to a serious injury that he suffered while helping his team ascend to the Serie A in the Italian league.

Captain Tsubasa is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoichi Takahashi.

The Captain Tsubasa manga series was originally serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between 1981 and 1988, with the chapters collected into a total of 37 tankobon volumes. This was followed by various manga sequels.

The original manga series was adapted into an anime television series, produced by Tsuchida Production, broadcast on TV Tokyo from 1983 to 1986. Numerous movies and television series have followed with the latest one airing between 2018 and 2019.

As of 2018, the overall manga had sold over 80 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga series.
