Anya Forger Defeats Saitama & Goku In Latest Fan-made Videos

The esper used her waku waku punch to take down One Punch Man.

Recent fan videos of Anya Forger circulating on the internet show her defeating two characters who are often regarded as the ceiling of shounen power scaling; Goku & Saitama.

Anya is seen in a hilarious face-off with Goku and Saitama in two separate videos uploaded by YouTuber Animeiko. In the most recent one, which was posted on July 9, 2022, the character from Spy x Family is seen landing a “waku waku punch” on the One Punch Man himself.

The video featuring Goku was uploaded on June 1, 2022, and shows Anya using the skills taught to her by none other than Piccolo, whom she fondly remembers as the green peanut, as she takes down the powerful Saiyan.

The videos gained enough traction over time with fans praising the YouTuber’s efforts to make the video.

“I gotta say you did an amazing job with the character design including fluent and consistent animation far surpassing my expectations. Really enjoyed it,” a user commented on the video with Saitama.

“I know people have done something like this before.. But this is such a high effort one~ I hope this blew up and becomes a trend where people insert Anya in every anime ever,” another user said.

Both videos use some scenes from the anime and also scenes that were animated by the user themselves. Animeiko said in one of their videos that more Anya videos will be put up on the channel.

Anya Forger has taken over the anime community ever since Spy x Family started airing. This wasn’t the first time fans edited Anya into other series.

Manga panels from different popular series including Naruto, Chainsaw Man, One Piece, JoJo & Demon Slayer were edited by fans to include Anya into key moments of the plot.

The Anya fever doesn’t end here.

Recently, male staff of FILIA, a host club in Japan’s Kabuchiko neighborhood, a red-light district, dressed up as the character from Spy x Family to entertain female guests who visit their establishment.

Spy × Family is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. It has been serialized biweekly on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ application and website since March 2019, with the chapters collected in nine tankōbon volumes as of April 2022.

The manga has exceeded over 350 million reads on the Shonen Jump+ digital platform and over 17 million copies of the collected volumes were printed (physically) and sold (digitally) in Japan.

Viz Media has licensed the series for English release in North America.

According to the recent Oricon sales records, Spy x Family became the best-selling series in Japan in April 2022 with most volumes of the same ranking in the volume-wise sales chart. The sales number is mostly boosted by the release of the anime in Spring 2022.
