All Dojutsu In Boruto & Their Mythical References Explained!

The world of Naruto ever since its introduction has created a varied power scaling based on Jutsus. This has led to various characters developing jutsus which are unique to them, extremely cool looking and too powerful that they can be termed as overpowered.

Amongst such overpowered jutsus are Dojutsus or jutsus which are performed through the eyes of the user. Let us deep dive into the lore and powers of every dojutsu from the Naruto universe till Boruto.

This will include all the information about these eye techniques, their relation to Asian-based Mythology and other lesser-known facts. Please be aware that this list will also include spoilers from the Manga, so if you still need to catch up, do so now. Now without any further ado, let us begin!

What Is A Dōjutsu?

All Dojutsu In Naruto And Boruto Explained

Dōjutsus are abilities that are utilised through the eyes. These are a by-product of specific Kekkei Genkai (Abilities passed down through the family bloodline) or Kekkei Mōra (Techniques passed down through Kaguya Ōtsutsuki’s lineage).

The Origin of Dōjutsus

The Dōjutsus we see throughout the series are derived from the Ōtsutsuki Clan, a mysterious parasitic alien who goes around the universe in search of planets with the highest amounts of Chakra and uses them for cultivating God trees to produce high-quality chakra fruits.

Their sole purpose is to achieve a god-like status like Shibai Ōtsutsuki, who discarded his physical body and now possibly lives on as an entity in a different dimension that can house his subconscious.

Each Otsutsuki Clans member naturally has the Byakugan.

However, when Kaguya ate a chakra fruit originally meant for Isshiki it gave Kaguya a third eye, the Rinne Sharingan, the progenitor of the Sharingan and Rinnegan.

Later on, when Kaguya had two children who shared her chakra, this allowed one of the sons, Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, to awaken the first-ever Rinne-Sharingan.

Rinne_sharingan
Rinne Sharingan on Madara after absorbing the divine tree

This phenomenon is called Keke Mōra, a branch of techniques unique to Kaguya Ōtsutsuki and her descendants.
These techniques do not follow the same guidelines as Kekkei Genkai or Tota.

For example, her Byakugan and her son’s Rinnegan would fall under the category of Kekkei Mora as these mutations first occurred within these individuals.

The ones that came after them were Kekkei Genkai, Sharingan and Byakugan, which became the visiting cards for the Uchiha and Hyūga Clans, respectively.

This is how the three great Dōjutsus Rinnegan, Sharingan and Byakugan came to be in Earth’s history of the Naruto/Boruto universe.

The other notable example of a Kekkei Mōra being passed down is the extinct clan “Kaguya clan,” which specialised in the Keke Genkai, Shikotsumyaku, an ability which allowed a select few members to control the bone structure of their bodies and use them as weapons.

This technique was a derivative of the Kekkei Mōra, “All- killing ash bones.” (Tomogotoshi no Haikotsu).

Coming back to Dojutsu, as mentioned earlier, these events in history brought the three great eye jutsus to earth.

Let’s learn a bit about them.

The Three Great Dōjutsus

⦁ Rinnegan

rinnegan

The Rinnegan (The Saṃsāra Eye) is one of the most powerful Dōjutsu eyes amongst the three great Dōjutsus. In the world of Naruto, it is said that whoever wields these eyes are sent down from Heavens to either become a god of creation who will bring peace onto the lands or a God of Destruction that will reduce everything to nothingness.

The eyes are commonly shown with circles covering the eyeball and have been seen in various colours, such as yellow in the manga and anime or Blue for Urashiki. But the most seen are Purple.

When looking at the meaning and motif behind Rinnegan, we must focus on the concept of Saṃsāra, which, in many Indian religious texts, refers to it in literal translation as Sansar, a word in Sanskrit that means the world is also a concept of the constant cycle of life and rebirth.

This is the opposite idea of achieving enlightenment in Buddhism and Moksha in Hinduism, where one breaks free of life and death, becomes one with everything, and achieves eternal peace.

In contrast, people trapped within Saṃsāra are bound to it due to their untamed Egos, greed and other selfish desires that cause them to reincarnate several times until they achieve enlightenment.

A notable example of this would be Buddha’s Golden Cicada, who started as a villain who would constantly boast his knowledge and disrespect Buddha’s teachings.

Until Buddha punished it for being reincarnated in 10 rows until it could redeem itself.

In Naruto Shippuden, Nagato was claimed to be the child of prophecy by Jiraiya as he possessed the Rinnegan in both of his eyes.

The Rinnegan granted him several abilities most notable of these were the Six Paths of Pain.

These paths were Deva, Asura, Human, Animal, Preta and Naraka. These were based on the Six Buddhist Paths of Reincarnation. Let me give you a gist about the same.

Techniques- The Six Paths of Pain

A Rinnegan user can either use or split their six paths of reincarnation abilities into six bodies and act as an outer path that provides each with Chakra, whereas, in Nagato’s case, he used Chakra rods for each of the bodies.

six paths of pain

The paths are represented as Bhavacakra, a concept of life and the universe.

Bhavchakra Buddhism

The wheel is a symbolic representation of the continuous process of existence in the form of a circle.

The King of Hell, Enma, holds this wheel. His job is to judge souls based on their Dharma/ Karma.

Outside Samsara represents a higher plain of existence for beings who broke free of endless reincarnations after accepting the four Nobel truths and becoming one with everything now residing in a realm above the Bhavachakra.

This is signified by Buddha pointing at the moon as a sign of the possibility of achieving liberation from Samsara.

The first three paths the upper semi-circle are described as “the three benevolent destinies” in terms known as Kuśalagati.

Where beings experience Virtue, pleasure, and pain.

The last three paths the lower semi-circle are referred to as “the three non-benevolent destinies, Akuśalagati where beings lack virtue means the soul will suffer predominantly.

Now let us look at the in-universe explanation of each of the six paths of pain with their abilities: –

Deva Path allows the user to attract and repulse objects or people. The Rinnegan also grants this path another technique called Chibaku Tensei which allows the user to make a terrestrial body such as the Moon of the Naruto Universe being a result of this technique used to seal Kaguya.

This can be represented symbolically in a way that Deva means God/demi-God and being a God a person can attract good things and repel bad things.

Asura Path allows users to augment their bodies to summon Mechanical weapons, armour, and other ballistic weaponry. The user can form up to four arms and faces. The user can fire their forearms as long rage projectiles or remove them to use and fire a cluster of mini-missiles at a target.

They can also produce several flexible blades and drills from their arms. The users can also form canons and fire out large bursts of chakras which can destroy numerous buildings at a large scale.

This can also be done when the user opens plates off their head like a crown. The user’s body also gains abnormal levels of raw physical strength, so much so that Nagato’s Asura path could rip Jiraiya’s arm off and even crush his throat with basic Taijutsu.

It is like how Demons are depicted in Hindu culture with multiple arms or heads, representing their immense strength, knowledge, and superiority over humans.

For example, despite being bad, the demon king Ravana is still very knowledgeable, a master of shastras, Puranas and all of the four Vedas and a huge devotee of the one true God, Shiva.

Human Path grants the user abilities to read minds through contact or even remove the soul of their body, which kills the victim. The souls could also be stored in the King of Hell summoning.

Despite these abilities, Nagato considered them useless, possibly because they were only useful in close combat and interrogation with no offensive advantages.

This path of pain, like the Naraka path, is a more direct representation of death and rebirth, as this path may take the characteristics of the Shinigami.

In this case, the human path through contact removes souls just like the death god would and direct them to the afterlife; in this case, the souls this path removes can be stored in the King of hell summoning, which is a symbol of King Enma the king of hell who judges souls upon their Karma.

Preta Path allows the user to absorb chakra in any form. This ability is used for defensive purposes.

This ability can absorb Ninjutsu techniques that are purely chakra or chakra based.

While this can also absorb Senjutsu, the user is still vulnerable to the stoning effects of absorbing too much of it, turning them into Toad stone statues.

However, have you ever wondered why this path has such an ability and why this path of pain looks paler compared to the other paths?

This is because, in mythology, Preta is known as the “Hungry Ghost realm,” the creatures that reside in this realm have a pale and weak-looking appearance as they suffer from insatiable hunger and cannot satisfy themselves no matter how much they eat or drink.

While in Naruto, the path itself does not look weak, it still uses Chakra as a defensive measure by absorbing Chakra of any form and does not seem to have a limit on how much it can.

Because of this, it could not stop itself from turning into a toad statue while absorbing Naruto’s Senjutsu chakra.

This ability allowed the Outer Path, Nagato, as a reanimated Shinobi, back to a more youthful state and even healed the damage to his legs.

The Naraka Path allows the user to regenerate and interrogate through the King of Hell summoning.

The King of Hell is a large head which usually sprouts out of the ground and, like all other summoning used by Pain through the animal path, also has a Rinnegan and shared vision that comes with all the paths.

While interrogating, the Naraka path will hold the victim by choking their necks and held in the air.

During this, the victim(s) will be in a paralysed state, and the Naraka Path will start questioning them whilst the King of hell will release tendrils from its mouth and draw out the victim’s life force in the form of grabbing their elongated tongue(s).

The king of hell would then enact its judgement based on the victim’s choice of answering; if the victim lied, the summoning would remove and consume the victim’s tongue and store their souls within it. If the victim told the path the truth, they would be spared but left highly exhausted.

The second ability allowed the Naraka Path to repair any damage done to itself or any paths as it healed the Asura Path’s damaged mechanical body.

To do this, the King of Hell would first consume the body, and the once-damaged body would remerge from its mouth fully healed. The king of hell could also be used to transport bodies.

The Animal Path allows the user to summon various animals. The animal this path uses includes- Giant Drill. Three-headed Dog, Snake-Tailed Chameleon, Pandas, Ox, Rhinos, Crustaceans, and Centipedes can also summon the other paths of pain to their location, such as when Pain was trying to infiltrate Konoha.

The animals, like pain, have embedded chakra rods to receive chakra from the outer path. Nagato uses these animals for large-scale attacks on large enemy groups.

All these various paths are controlled by the Outer Path, which is Nagato. This path grants him the ability to create his six paths of pain by giving each of them abilities specific to that path.

It also grants the ability to revive the dead using the technique “Saṃsāra of heavenly life/Gedo-Rinne-Tensei” which involves a Rinnegan user to use the king of hell when activated and release all the souls back from either its interrogation or bringing them back from the afterlife back to the victim’s deceased body.

You can read about Rinne Rebirth In more detail over here:

However, after using this technique, the user dies in exchange for the lives brought back.

This technique can also revive a reanimated individual. This was what Madara had planned for his revival and why he gave Nagato his eyes in the first place.

This path as a single individual can use all the Pain Path techniques and even have their unique Rinnegan-based techniques.

For the sake of this Article, we will primarily focus on Sasuke Uchiha’s Rinnegan Abilities from the Boruto Series.

Sasuke’s Rinnegan abilities

Sasuke EMS and Rinnegan

Sasuke’s Rinnegan awoke on his left eye after receiving half of Hagaromo’s Chakra. This stays permanently active but does not zap much chakra to do so.

It grants him six paths’ techniques, such as blocking the light of the infinite Tsukuyomi through his Susanoo, using six paths of pain’s abilities, and specialising in space-time-based Ninjutsus.

To know more about Sasuke’s Rinnegan Abilities you can read up here:

Such as travelling across dimensions. Furthermore, along with his Rinnegan abilities, Sasuke can also use his Sharingan abilities as well.

To jog your memory of Sharingan abilities you can read them up here:

Once you are done with revising your basics on Sharingan let’s jump to the next stage of Sharingan which is the Mangekyou Sharingan.

The Mangekyō Sharingan

Mangekyou_Sharingan

As we know the Mangekyō Sharingan is an advancement of the Sharingan and is acquired by a handful of characters throughout the series.

This advancement can be achieved when the user endures a traumatic event like a loss or extreme happiness (in the case of Sarada).

The first person to achieve Mangekyou Sharingan was Indra Otsutsuki.

Whereas Madara and his brother Izuna were the first humans to achieve this advancement.

When it comes to the powers of Mangekyou Sharingan they vary from user to user. And there’s a valid psychological reason behind that as well, read the article below to know the exact details.

However, extended use can make a person partially blind Madara which is the next stage of Mangekyou Sharingan is awakened.

It is called Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, it can only be achieved by transplanting Mangekyou Sharingan eyes of a blood relative.

Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan

Eternal_mangekyou_sharingan

As mentioned above EMS is the next stage of MS, however, throughout the series only 2 characters have displayed their powers of Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. One is Indra Otsutsuki and the other is Sasuke Uchiha.

On top of that, both of them share their thought processes and EMS abilities as well. Although, Sasuke has shown more about EMS abilities than Indra. So I will be talking more about Sasuke’s Eternal Mangekyou Abilities.

Please note, these abilities overlap with the Mangekyou Abilities & Sharingan Abilities. Now Mangekyou Abilities are different for each user as mentioned in the article linked above. If you haven’t read that you may not follow the rest of the article. So I request you to finish reading that article, I’ll wait for you exactly over here.

Okay, so since you are back reading the article, let me tell you that although the abilities of Mangekyou Sharingan can differ, the abilities of Sharingan are the same for all.

So instead of talking about all the mangekyou sharingan abilities in detail while talking about Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan doesn’t make sense. So I will directly inform you about the abilities of Sasuke’s Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan as that is the only EMS we have witnessed extensively in the show.

Also, only those abilities I will talk about that are unique to Sasuke because the rest of the powers are similar to other users of Sharingan and Mangekyou Sharingan.

Sasuke Uchiha’s Mangekyō Sharingan Abilities

His Mangekyō Sharingan awakened weeks after his faithful battle with Itachi. His straight tomoe design allowed Sasuke to have more fluidity in his movements compared to other Uchiha members who didn’t have choku-tomoe.

So talking about Sasuke’s mangekyou Sharingan Abilities they are:

Amaterasu and Blaze release- Kagutsuchi

Amaterasu is a black flame that can burn almost anything it comes into contact with. It can, however, be sealed or absorbed through a Karma seal.

The flames can be put out or shaped into weapons via Blaze release- Kagutsuchi. This technique allows Sasuke to shape these flames to use as arrows for his Susanoo or to create spikes as a last-minute defence.

Susanoo

Although a common Mangekyou Sharingan technique, Sasuke’s Susanoo does have an edge over others.

To know what’s the difference between Susanoo of other Mangekyou Sharingan users, click on the link here and scroll to the almost end of the article or read all:

Susanoo starts as a rib cage and a skeletal arm to interact with its surroundings during its initial stages.

With further mastery, the user can develop armour and skin onto the Susanoo, making it more humanoid and granting it unique weapons based on the User’s Mangekyō Sharingan abilities.

In its final stage, the user stabilises their chakra, increasing Susanoo’s height. In this state, the Susanoo gains a Tengu-like nose, robes, and distinctive armour from each user.

Despite this, the users are still vulnerable to being caught by outside obstructs, which, if the user is caught, can be dragged out of Susanoo and be susceptible to attacks.

Development Stages of Sasuke’s Susanoo:

Sasuke’s Susanoo is dark purple (or dark blue in the Manga) to represent his ever-growing hatred, giving his Susanoo devil-like horns and a horrid grin.

During its second development stage, he can utilise a bow and arrow, which can be coated with Amaterasu’s flames.
Infusing Senjutsu Chakra into the Susanoo is indeed possible.

Sasuke demonstrated this by spreading Jugo’s cursed seal of heaven on his Susanoo. When utilising the six-path chakra, he enhanced his Susanoo by storing the chakras of the nine-tailed beasts, much like the demonic statue of the outer path.

This allowed Sasuke to perform one of the most powerful lightning-release techniques: Indra’s arrow.

Sasuke’s Susanoo can utilise weapons such as: –
⦁ Sabre- A French backsword used during the Napolean era
⦁ Ōdachi- A Japanese nihontō (a katana with a thin grip and no hand guard) used by the Samurai of Feudal Japan
⦁ A pair of Katana used by its complete body
⦁ A Crossbow is its primary choice of weapon, which manifests on its left arm and can also act as a shield.

This is all there is to talk about Sharingan and its evolutions and powers in Naruto/Boruto universe as of now.

However, the dojutsu list doesn’t end here. In Konoha itself, there exists another dojutsu which has such strength that the clan and the village claim to be the strongest in Konoha.

Not to forget, our boi Naruto’s wife belongs to that clan i.e. the Hyuga clan which is famous for their Byakugan.

So let us talk about Byakugan now.

Byakugan

byakugan

The Byakugan, which translates to all-seeing white eyes, originated from the Ōtsutsuki Clan. When settling on Earth, this Dōjutsu became more familiar with their descendants, the Hyūga Clan.

The Byakugan, unlike other Dōjutsus, does not require any conditions for it to manifest, as each user is born with the Dōjutsu.

When active, the users’ pupils become more distinctive, unlike what the eye would usually look, and the increased blood flow to their eyes causes the veins on their temples to bulge.

However, exceptions such as Himawari, who, despite being born with blue eyes, whenever she shows extreme emotions such as anger can activate her Byakugan subconsciously.

The Byakugan is such a versatile dojutsu that it can be used for offence and defence. Here are some of the abilities of Byakugan:

Byakugan’s abilities

⦁ Users of the Byakugan have nearly 360-degree vision except for the first thoracic vertebra. Users can see through almost every solid matter unless the enemy uses specific barriers, as seen when Ishiki invaded Konoha or had smokescreen bombs made of an unknown mineral.

⦁ The same range of how far a user can see varies, as its range can be increased through training.

⦁ It can see chakra at a much greater degree than the Sharingan, as it enables the user to distinguish between the person and their clones, see chakra’s pathway system and the individual pressure points.

⦁ Through the usage of the specialised Taijutsu, the Gentle Fist. Members of the Hyūga clan can synonymously use this martial art with their Byakugan by striking specific chakra points to either shut down the pathway system or, in extreme cases, stop the enemy’s heart.

⦁ The users of this Dōjutsu can also differentiate and figure out if people are under a Genjutsu.

⦁ This Dōjutsu can also increase the range of a Genjutsu, such as when Kaguya was able to increase the range of her Infinite Tsukuyomi by activating her Byakugan

⦁ Momoshiki’s Byakugan was also able to see other’s fate as he was able to see Boruto losing his friends and family and was planning to use this to permanently break his mind and body and finally gain control.

As mentioned earlier, Byakugan is a versatile dojutsu and after reading the abilities you can say that the users of this dojutsu must be exponentially strong as well. You are not wrong. Let me tell you about the,

Strongest Users of the Byakugan

Toneri Ōtsutsuki – Toneri is the direct descendant of the brother of the Sage of Six Paths. Hence his usage of Byakugan is way more intense and powerful than normal humans.

Surprisingly he was strong enough to wield the Tensaigan, another Dojutsu about which we will talk soon, and go toe to toe with Naruto, who used Kurama Chakra Mode enhanced by Senjutsu.

By wielding his Tensaigan, Toneri also has access to Tensaigan Chakra mode, which allows him to use all five nature transformations, including Ying and Yang release, create truth-seeking orbs and be strong enough to cut the moon in half with one strike with his Chakra blade.

Momoshiki Ōtsutsuki – Momoshiki, through his physical prowess, took on four Kages while fighting alongside Kinshiki and later, after powering up.

He could also fight Naruto and Sasuke in his powered-up state whilst they used their Six Paths chakra and abilities.

Kaguya Ōtsutsuki – Kaguya gained immense power by consuming the chakra fruit. Her simple glare with her Byakugan sent shockwaves that could paralyse and subdue a target. She can also absorb any chakra-based Ninjutsu, even the Amaterasu flames.

She possesses excellent reaction speed, as she could easily fend off multiple attacks from Naruto and get behind her enemies in the blink of an eye.

She specialises in All- killing ash bones through which she can weaponise her bones which, when they make contact, can turn any living matter into ash.

She also possesses the ability to travel through Dimensions or warp them to her location, all using her Rinne Sharingan

Neji Hyūga – From an early age, Neji was seen as a genius even surpassing the high standards of his clan. Without formal training, Neji learned most of the advanced techniques of his clans just through mere observations.

As the wielder of the Byakugan, Neji trained extensively to overcome the clan’s blind spot’s weakness to no success, but due to the point emitting chakra, he uses it to sense oncoming attacks.

During the time skip, he could also increase his Byakugan’s range from 50 to 800 metres.

As a practitioner of Taijutsu, he can systematically strike opponents at critical points of their body with incredible speeds and outstanding coordination.

He can use his clan’s secret Taijutsu, “Eight trigrams sixty-four palms,” to deliver a series of attacks striking 64 pressure points of his target, stopping their chakra flow completely.

This is broken down into six segments, each containing more strikes than the last, and requires him to increase his speed simultaneously.

The final set is usually challenging to pull off, but it has enough discharge force to send the enemy flying when done successfully; as defence Neji can utilise Eight Trigrams palm rotation, where Neji spins at incredible speeds to deflect oncoming attacks from multiple directions.

Hinata Hyūga – Hinata, from a young age, was given special training from her father, but her easy-going nature made it difficult to bring out the ferocity of her clan’s techniques.

After being motivated by Naruto in part 2; she became a much more adept fighter in her own right.

Through her Byakugan, she can see as far as 20 kilometres. It also allows her to identify people under a Genjutsu and even search for its caster if nearby.

Her proficiency in the Gentle fist enables her to attack a person’s internal organs and cut off chakra pathways by attacking pressure points.

Hinata can use a variety of her clan’s techniques, such as Gentle step and twin lion fist, through which she creates chakra-based guardian lion head avatars on her hands.

When they come into contact with the enemy’s chakra system, it can drain all the chakra from them, eight trigrams vacuum palms.

In this technique, she releases a strong current of pressurised wind to attack enemies outside her reach and, finally, Eight trigrams sixty-four palms.

Similar to Sharingan, Byakugan also has an upgraded version however it is much more complex to achieve. As to achieve this next upgrade you have to be an Otsutsuki.

Evolutions of the Byakugan

Tenseigan

Tenseigan

This mutation occurs when an Ōtsutsuki transplants a pure Byakugan from the Hyūga clan, which causes both the clan’s Chakra to mix and awaken the Tenseigan.

When Toneri Ōtsutsuki had transplanted them, it took several days for his Byakugan to mutate.

Through this, Dōjutsu users can receive techniques like the six paths of Senjutsu, such as Tenseigan Chakra mode, which also grants users Truth seeking orbs and a variety of techniques.

Abilities of the Tenseigan

Tenseigan Chakra Mode
This unique chakra mode allowed Toneri to match and fight on par with Naruto Uzumaki in his Kurama Chakra mode, enhanced by Sage mode.

Toneri’s speed and power increased drastically, allowing him to conjure rock-based golems to fight on his behalf.
He also utilised truth-seeking orbs, encompassing the power of all five basic natures and surpassing Kekkei Genkai and Tōta.

These balls can be used for offensive and defensive purposes but are vulnerable to Senjutsu-based attacks.
Once the ball is destroyed, the user cannot recreate new orbs as replacements for unknown reasons.

Toneri, in his fight with Naruto, used them to create balls of chakra capable of destroying the moon’s surface and a giant sword capable of cutting it in half. Sometimes it makes me wonder if Tenseigan is stronger than the rinnegan.

Other Ōtsutsuki based Dōjutsus

Jōgan

Jougan

Jōgan is a Dōjutsu unique to the Ōtsutsuki clan. The full extent of its abilities is unknown.

So far, the eye is shown to detect hidden targets and perceive each chakra’s nature with sudden changes, such as the target being corrupted.

Boruto as a child could only subconsciously activate this ability, but by age 16, he has learned to manifest it on will and possibly use some of the abilities it grants. However, this is just anime only. In the manga, Boruto has not manifested any kind of Dojutsu yet.

Isshiki’s Dōjutsu

Isshiki_eye

This is an unnamed Dōjutsu used by Ishiki Ōtsutsuki and his vessel, Kawaki, through his Kārma.

The eye has ever-changing spokes in its design as originally Ishiki had eight, but they were reduced to two after his death.

When Kawaki was fighting against Momoshiki (possessing Boruto), he initially had one spoke when he did not utilise any of its techniques, increasing from two to five. The reason for this change happening is currently unknown.

The Dōjutsu’s design is loosely based on the Dharma wheel of the various reincarnating realms in Buddhism, but it is unclear if the techniques have any connection to its vast arsenal of techniques seen so far.

Ishiki’s Dōjutsu manifested on his right eye, Kawaki’s on his left.

Abilities

Sukunahikona
Sukunahikona allows its user to shrink or increase in size. The technique is not limited to the user as it can also decrease the size of non-living objects, such as Ishiki’s various weapons and other items he may want to store in his Daikokuten dimension.

In combat, Ishiki uses this to discharge his stored weapons and increase their size closer to his targets before they have a chance to react.

He is shown to use this ability even on the verge of death after Kaguya betrays him and can plant a Kāma seal onto Jigen.

In Japanese Mythology, the technique’s name is based on the Shinto goddess’s son Sukunahikona whose name means “The small lord of renown.”

He was a dwarf who was as big as a thumb and was known for his excellent knowledge of medicine and was also known as the Deity of hot springs in one of his many travels.

After being sick, he took a dip into a hot spring at Dōgo Onsen (which is situated in the city of Matsuyama) and woke up healed. This is why Onsen symbolise purification and spiritual rejuvenation.

Daikokuten

Daikokuten is a technique that allows shrunk objects of Sukunahikona or larger objects within its dimension. In this realm, anything, whether it may be food, weapons or even people, does not suffer from the passage of time as they do not age a day when they are within Daikokuten and are instantaneously retrievable at the user’s will.

This action is so fast that even Sasuke, who wields the Sharingan, cannot anticipate it and is severely injured by Isshiki.

As Jigen, Isshiki had to give a gesture of hand for any item to appear, as his Dōjutsu would not manifest through Jigen as he was not strong enough to be a compatible vessel.

In his original body, when activating this technique, his eyes change pattern with eight intersecting spokes with a yellow iris in the centre,

In Japanese Mythology, Daikokuten is one of the seven lucky gods in Buddhism. Daikokuten, Benaaiten and Bishamonten came to Japan from China, but their folklore originated in India.

Fukurokuju, Hotei, and Jurojin come from Taoist mythology, except for Ebisu, a native of Japan.

His name is derived from Mahākāla, a Buddhist version of the Hindu god Shiva, described as a wrathful god who protects Buddhist Dharma (Dharmapāla).

In popular belief, Daikokuten is depicted with the legendary wooden hammer, Uchide no Kozuchi (Tap-appear Hammer), which, when tapping on anything, will manifest anything its user wishes for.

Senreigan

senreigan

Senreigan is a Dōjutsu that manifested on Shibai Ōtsutsuki. After many evolutions, Amado hypothesised that he discarded his physical body and ascended to a higher state of being.

His DNA was transplanted into Eida and a few other members of Kara to gain portions of his abilities. This allowed Eida to awaken this Dōjutsu and other Shinjutsu-based abilities he used.

This Dōjutsu grants its user the ability to project themselves at any point of history up to the user’s birth or any other dimension to witness specific events.

The dojutsu also grants us the ability to check the past (until the user’s birth) and present events like CCTV footage. Anywhere across the globe. This is further useful as the events can be used to alter reality.

Yes, the user of Senreigan dojutsu can alter reality at will and can also subconsciously alter it.

However, they still have limited context over these events as users use their general understanding and perception to make sense of them.

The ability cannot perceive events from a spiritual or mental realm, such as the afterlife or thoughts.

Daemon’s Eye:

Daemon_eye

Daemon is the younger brother of Eida and just like her is an android created by Amado with a ridiculous power. His eye resembles a half-moon and there’s very little known about it.

However, we do know that he can reflect all attacks and even murderous intent back to multi-folds. Yes, even thinking about killing him will kill you in return.

Conclusion:

Naruto introduced us to Sharingan dojutsu and it led to a trend of eye powers in the anime community. Whereas Boruto took it further and gave us more absurdly overpowered dojutsu like Senreigan which can alter reality.

Although all these dojutsus exist the scary part is most of its users are under the control of Amado. He says he gave them these absurd abilities from the DNA of Shibai Otsutsuki. My question is if Shibai left his body where was this body dumped and in which dimension does he live and what dojutsu does he have?

Let me know in the comments!

  1. I am Not Sure sbout the jougan.
Because, actual it is still Anime only, and so dar IT Had Just the convienent ability Boruto needed.

I am Just confused, because in the Manga it looks like bykugan and only appears, when Boruto uses Karma. If he was born with it, he should be able, to use IT without Karma. (And the question ist also, If IT still intact. Kawaki damaged His eye)

    Reply
    • So far, what is seen of the Jogan is that it is a Dojutsu Boruto that can only subconsciously activate. Boruto, even after the time skip, can use and activate his Dojutsu on command despite receiving damage from Kawaki, as seen in the final chapters of the original Manga.
But the possible reason he keeps his eye shut maybe because he can’t deactivate the Dojutsu, and while it may not take Chakra to maintain, he, just like Sasuke, covers it until he needs to use it, or he can activate it and also regain his vision temporarily while using it.
Also, Boruto is born with this Dojutsu but can’t use it at will because of his inexperience, just like his younger sister with her Byakugan.
Lastly, it does have a similar look to that of the Byakugan, but please note that it does not have any relation to that or Tensaigan and is its own thing.
