My Hero Academia stage panel at Jump Festa 2022 event, screened a special message from the manga creator, Kohei Horikoshi, on Sunday, Dec 19,2021, which indicated his plans as to when he will end the manga.

A part of his messages translates as follows:

“If “HeroAca” continues to progress smoothly, in just about exactly a year from now it will meet its goal… that’s the situation. If it doesn’t go smoothly, I think Yamashita-kun will be reading out the exact same message from me at next year’s Jump Festa.”

Daiki Yamashita, the voice of Izuku Midoriya, was in charge of reading this message from the author during the stage event. Horikoshi also hinted in the message that the character, Katsuki Bakugou, will soon get his “big scene” that both the people who love him, and those who hate him will be completely surprised.

My Hero Academia entered its “final act” in March.

Horikoshi launched the manga series in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2014. As of October 2021, it has been collected in 32 tankobon volumes. The story follows Izuku Midoriya, a boy born without superpowers (called Quirks) in a world where they have become commonplace, but who still dreams of becoming a superhero himself.

The anime first premiered in April 2016, and went on to have five seasons, with the sixth season soon to premiere in Fall 2022.
