Urusei Yatsura Anime Reveals New Trailer For Cour 2 & More Cast

Opening theme song for cour 2 was also revealed.

The official website of the new Urusei Yatsura anime unveiled a new trailer along with the theme song artists for the second cour of the anime on Jan 3, 2023.

MAISONdes will once again be in charge of performing the opening theme song for the second cour of Urusei Yatsura anime. The opening is titled “I Wanna Muchu feat. asmi, Threee,” which is previewed in the trailer.

The new ending theme will be revealed in episode 12 which will be aired on Jan 5, 2023.

In addition to this, the site also revealed three new voice cast that will be joining the anime.

Newly announced cast includes:

  • Aoi Yuki as Ten
Ten Urusei Yatsura

Description:

He is a child of the demon tribe and Lum’s cousin. His special skill is shooting flames from his mouth. He loves girls, and is always eyeing Ataru with envy.

  • Ayahi Takagaki as Ryunosuke Fujinami
Ryunosuke Urusei Yatsura

Description:

She is a beautiful girl with shorthair and is in charge of running a beach teahouse. She was raised by her father, to be strong enough not to be defeated by the sea. She is quick to fight and has a foul mouth.

  • Shigeru Chiba as Ryunosuke’s dad
Ryunosuke Dad Urusei Yatsura

Description:

He is the third generation in the family to own a beach house. Whenever Ryunosuke and he gets together, they immediately start fighting.

Urusei Yatsura anime started airing on Oct 13, 2022.

The official website also revealed that the first season of the anime will run for 2 consecutive cours. It will be broadcast on Fuji TV “Noitamina” and other stations.

The technical cast for the series includes Hideya Takahashi and Yasuhiro Kimura as directors, with Yuuko Kakihara as script writer. Naoyuki Asano will serve as character designer.

The animation of the series is undertaken by David Production.

The Urusei Yatsura manga was the first work of Rumiko Takahashi to be published in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine from 1978 to 1987. It has 366 individual chapter, 6 movies, 12 OVAs. The series received 195 episodes long anime series which ran from Oct 14, 1981 to March 19, 1986 produced by Kitty Films.

Viz Media published the manga series in English in North America in the 1990s by renaming it to Lum and The Return of Lum. However, they dropped it after 9 volumes.
