The official website of the upcoming suspense anime Summer Time Rendering announced on Thursday, March 10, 2022, that the main female protagonist Kofune Ushio is the first anime tourism ambassador of Wakayama Prefecture, Japan.
A key visual featuring Ushio as the ambassador beside the other main character Shinpei Amiyo visiting the Tomogashima 3rd Battery Ruins is released to commemorate the event.
The idea was inspired by the original author Yasuki Tanaka‘s Summer Time Rendering manga which showcases many street corners and specialties of Wakayama City in addition to the characters speaking the Wakayama dialect.
The “Wakayama City Anime Tourism Ambassador” aims to widely disseminate the charm of Wakayama City both domestically and internationally, by improving its image through tourism.
The inauguration ceremony for the Anime Tourism Ambassador will be held on March 24, 2022, at the main government building of Wakayama City Hall.
Tanaka launched the manga on Shonen Jump+ in October 2017, and the manga’s 13th and final volume shipped on April 2. Shueisha launched its MANGA Plus service with the English version of the manga in January 2019.
An anime television series adaptation by OLM is set to premiere in April 2022. A live-action adaptation and a real escape game have also been announced.
