Quintessential Quintuplets Movie Debuts At #2 At Japanese Box Office Earns Over 390 Million Yen In 3 Days

The final story of The Quintessential Quintuplets inspired into The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie anime film debuted at #2 at the Japanese Box office, earning an astonishing 390 million yen (3.06 million USD) on 260,000 attendance on its first 3 days. The movie opened on May 20, 2022, in 108 theaters across Japan.

The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie is topped by Hideaki Anno’s and Shinji Higuchi’s Shin Ultraman, which premiered on May 13 and was followed by Detective Conan: The Bride of Halloween opened on April 15 which ranked 3rd.

The film offered moviegoers a special bonus chapter, Volume 14.5 which features a new chapter 122+1 that takes place after the original ending.

In the 2nd week of its premiere, starting on May 27, 5 types of bonus mini shikishi boards “School Uniform version” will be distributed and handed over at random. Each of them has a newly drawn illustration of the Nakano sisters with a voice actress’s message. The first visitor bonus new chapter will be redistributed from June 17.

Negi Haruba’s original manga The Quintessential Quintuplets was previously adapted into two TV seasons, both consisting of 12 episodes.

The anime’s second season premiered on TBS on Jan 7 and finished airing on March 26, 2021.

The new season was originally scheduled to premiere in October 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19. The anime featured a returning cast.

The manga launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2017, and Haruba ended the series in February 2020.
