The One Piece Film: Red released on Saturday, Aug 6, across 495 theatres in Japan and has earned a massive 2.25 billion yen in its first 2 days of release. It was the second highest opening for a movie on Japanese box office. In addition to that, One Piece Film: Red took over Jujutsu Kaisen 0‘s spot.
The Red film is second only to Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie, which earned a whopping 3.3 billion yen on its opening weekend. Whereas, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 had earned 1.6 billion yen.
The Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen movies had released on a Friday whereas the One Piece movie released on a Saturday. The collection numbers of the Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen movies are of their earnings of Saturday and Sunday. If we count their earnings from Friday then the One Piece Film: Red topples to the third position.
The Mugen train movie and 0 movie earned 4.6 billion yen and 2.6 billion yen including their Friday collections. However, we are yet to receive updates on the third day collection of One Piece movie.
On the first day of its release One Piece Film: Red earned over 1.2 billion yen, which is the third move in Japanese movie history to achieve this feat. It shares this feat with Demon Slayer Mugen Train movie and they both are also the only movies to earn 1 billion yen for 2 days continuously.
The Red movie has already earned half of what One Piece Film: Strong World earned in 2009.
One Piece Film: Red will be released by Crunchyroll across the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand sometime this fall. It describes the seafaring musical adventure as such:

The One Piece manga also created a history recently by creating a new Guinness record by beating its own Guinness record.
