My Master Has No Tail Anime Reveals October Premiere At AnimeJapan 2022

Additional cast members were also revealed in the new PV that was streamed.

The stage presentation of Pony Canyon’s booth at AnimeJapan 2022 revealed that My Master Has No Tail TV anime series will start airing in Japan from October 2022. It will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, MBS, and BS Asahi channels.

The event also revealed a new Promotional Video and details on the cast joining the series.

The new cast includes:

  • Lynn as Shirara Tsubaki
  • Takuya Eguchi as Tsubaki Byakudanji
  • Ayumu Murase as Sakujiro
  • Natsuki Aikawa as Omatsu
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Koito
  • Yuichiro Umehara as Rakuda

Hideyo Yamamoto will be in charge of directing the anime (Strike The Blood, The Prince of Tennis II, Cells at Work! Code Black) and LIDEN FILMS is animating the series.

The series’s scripting is overlooked by Touko Machida. He’ll be writing it along with Kei Shimobayashi, Aya Satsuki, and Yuho Togashi.

The character design is overseen by Ryo Yamauchi (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress: The Battle of Unato). He will also be the Chief Animation Director.

The anime will star M.A.O as Mameda and Hibiku Yamamura as Bunko.

The anime story takes place in Japan’s Taisho Era (1912-1926). The story revolves around Mameda a shape-shifting fox girl wanting to become a human. She transforms herself into a raven-haired human girl only to get caught and be ostracized by humans. But tables turn when one of the humans who rejected her is herself a shape-shifter who transformed herself into a Rakugo (comic storytelling) storyteller. Post learning her truth, Mameda begs her to become her master. The name of the human is Bunko.

The anime is based on the manga series of the same name written by TNSK. It is still ongoing and was first published first in Kodansha’s Good! Afternoon magazine in January 2019.
