Following the emergence of Minato Namikaze as the most popular character of the Naruto anime, as revealed by the results of the world popularity poll, the official website of Naruto has a new information in store for the fans.
It was revealed on May 15, 2023, that the new one-shot on Minato will be published in Weekly Shonen Jump this summer.
The exact date is yet to be revealed.
Masashi Kishimoto had earlier revealed that whilst working on the short story for Minato, he ended up creating more pages than he had originally planned.
“While trying to make a story that would match the expectation of his fans, I ended up with more pages than I had originally anticipated. Please look forward to the secret story behind Minato’s jutsu!”
NARUTOP99 was carried out as part of Naruto anime’s 20th anniversary celebrations!
Based on the manga series of the same name by Masashi Kishimoto, Naruto anime began airing on Oct 3, 2002. Produced by Studio Pierrot and Aniplex, the first part of Naruto anime aired from 2002 to 2007 with 220 episodes. A sequel titled Naruto: Shippuden began airing the same year, and continued till 2017 before ending.
Naruto: Shippuden aired for a total of 500 episodes.
The main story then continued, focusing on the younger generation, with Naruto’s son Boruto, playing the titular character in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations.
