A total of 16 voice actors from One Piece attended the special stage event at the world premiere of One Piece Film Red at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan on July 22, 2022.

The world premiere was being held as part of One Piece‘s 25th anniversary celebration. The event was attended by the following VAs;

• Mayumi Tanaka who voices Monkey D. Luffy
• Kazuya Nakai who voices Roronoa Zoro
• Akemi Okamura who voices Nami
• Kappei Yamaguchi who voices Usopp
• Hiroaki Hirata who voices Sanji
• Ikue Otani who voices Tony Tony Chopper
• Kazuki Yao who voices Franky
• Katsuhisa Hoki who voices Jinbei
• Shuichi Ikeda who voices Shanks
• Kenjiro Tsuda who voices Gordon, a character from One Piece Film Red
• Yuki Yama and Japanese comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, who voice the Jellyfish Pirates

Director Goro Taniguchi, who is helming One Piece Film Red, too made an appearance on stage towards the end of the event. Ado, who voices Uta from the movie made an appearance as well on stage during the event.

The VAs of Straw Hat Pirates all voiced dialogues supporting Luffy and his aim of being the Pirate King. It was capped off by Tanaka’s iconic “Kaizoku ou ni ore wa naru”.

Before the voice actors made an appearance, Uta’s hologram performed her songs from the movie for the audience. A total of 4000 people attended the event.

July 22 is also celebrated as the One Piece day in order to commemorate the manga’s beginning of serialization. A new trailer for One Piece Film Red was released at the special live streaming that was held on One Piece day as part of the 25th anniversary celebration.

One Piece Film: Red, which is the fourth instalment in the One Piece Film franchise, is set to release in Japan on Aug 6, 2022.

The movie will be released in IMAX, MX4D, 4DX, DOLBY ATMOS versions from the opening day.

Goro Taniguchi returns to the franchise for the first time since 1998 to direct One Piece Film: Red. Tsutomu Kuroiwa will be in charge of the screenplay. Toei Animation is animating the film with original author Eiichiro Oda serving as executive producer.

The movie features and centers on the mysterious character Uta, who is teased to be Shanks daughter in the teaser. Uta’s character design was revealed on March 28, 2022.
