Popular Japanese actress Rena Kondo, known for her roles in Dorohedoro, Akiba Maid War, Horimiya, among others, is taking a temporary break from her activities due to health concerns. Her talent agency, Hirata Office, announced the news on Feb 23, 2024, in a statement.
According to the statement released by the company, Kondo has been facing ongoing health issues since the beginning of February. In light of her condition, she has consulted with medical professionals, leading to the decision to prioritize her treatment and recovery at this time.
While the specifics of her health condition have not been disclosed, it has been decided that she will be taking a temporary break to focus on her recovery.
“Kondo has been suffering from poor health since February. After consulting with a doctor, it has been decided that she will prioritize treatment for the time being. As for her future activities, she will be taking a temporary break and will resume activities with restrictions for a while.
We sincerely apologize to all concerned parties and fans for any inconvenience and worry this may cause,” the statement read.
Reina Kondo is a Japanese voice actress and singer from Chiba Prefecture who is affiliated with Hirata Office. Some of her voice acting roles includes Nikaido in Dorohedoro, Sakura Kono in Horimiya, Nagomi Wahira in Akiba Maid War, Hana Ichinose in Slow Start, Suzuka Nagami in My Sister, My Writer, Aru in Blue Archive.
On April 14, 2021, she made her debut as a solo singer under Nippon Columbia.
