The That Time I Reincarnated As A Slime Movie: Scarlet Bond released in North American theatres on January 20 and has earned 1.4 million USD.

The movie’s earning are calculated including the Thursday preview screenings which sum up to US$1,459,515.

According to Box Office Mojo, Scarlet Bond takes the 8th place for the weekend of January 20-22.

The per-day breakdown:

• Thursday, January 19: $250,000
• Friday, January 20: $451,958 (revised)
• Saturday, January 21: $507,557 (new)
• Sunday, January 22: $250,000 (estimate)

Crunchyroll announced that they will release the movie in early 2023 across the globe except Asia. The release dates for other countries are as follows:

• January 18, 2023 in the United Kingdom and Ireland
• January 19 in Australia
• January 20 in the United States and Canada
• January 26 in Mexico

The film released on November 25 in Japan and ranked at #2. The movie sold 313,000 tickets for 416 million yen (about US$3.19 million) in its first three days.

The film’s plot is described as such:

A long-running conspiracy is swirling over a mysterious power known as “Queen” in Raja, a small country west of Tempest. When a slime who evolved into a Demon Lord named Rimuru Tempest crosses paths with Hiiro, a survivor of the Ogre race, an incredible adventure packed with new characters begins. The power of bonds will be put to the test!

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novels, also known as TenSura, are written by Fuse, and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The story is about a salaryman who is murdered and reincarnates in a sword and sorcery world as a slime with unique powers and gathers allies to build his own nation of monsters.

Twenty volumes have been released as of September 2022. The light novel has been licensed in North America by Yen Press, who published the first volume in December 2017.

An anime adaptation by by Eight Bit aired from October 2018 to March 2019. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 aired from January to September 2021.

The staff of the anime announced on the official website on Nov 9, 2022, that the series will be returning for a 3rd season.
