Pokémon Fandom Split Over Team Rocket Parting Ways In Latest Episode

With just two more episodes to go to conclude the journey of Ash and Pikachu, the latest episode of Pokémon anime had a surprise in store for the fans, and not a happy kinda one at that.

Fans were greatly upset by the fate that befell the most lovable villain trio of the anime, Team Rocket. In the episode the trio, Jessie, James and Meowth were seen parting ways after they failed the age old battle of desperately trying to capture the now Pokémon champion Pikachu, since their first appearance in 1997.

Although them disbanding seemed abrupt, it was probably in their best interest to spread out and leave their villain era in the past, just like that of Cassidy and Butch, who took up the hobby of wood carving.

The fandom, however, were split regarding the incident as many were of the opinion that it was a good time for them to retire, and that it would a fresh change to be introduced with new villains.

Needless to say, this wasn’t the first time the trio went their separate ways, giving the fans a ray of hope that they would return in the last episode, or the next series, if not as villains. They would at least make a comeback after finding their foot in the real world following their passions.

Many fans also pointed out that the previous arcs of Pokémon anime too had an episode where Team Rocket would split up. However, they somehow ended up banding together again in order to achieve their goal of stealing Pikachu

This time though, fans are concerned as only two more episodes of Pokémon Journeys: The Series are left and it needs to be seen in what way the much loved villainous trio would reunite in the short span of time!

The new Pokémon anime will start airing from April 14 2023. It will follow new protagonists Liko and Roy, with original storyline.

Pokémon is a Japanese anime television series, part of The Pokémon Company’s Pokémon media franchise, which premiered on TV Tokyo in April 1997.

The anime franchise consists of seven sequential series in Japan, each based on a main installment of the Pokémon video game series. In the international broadcasts, these series are split across 25 seasons, with the 25th season, Ultimate Journeys.

The Pokémon anime series was largely credited for allowing anime to become more popular and familiar around the world, especially in the United States, where many Pokémon films are among the highest-grossing anime films. It is also considered to be one of the first anime series on television to reach this level of mainstream success with Western audiences, as well as being credited with allowing the game series to reach such a degree of popularity and vice versa. Pokémon is regarded as the most successful video game adaptation of all time.
