After weeks of speculation and online leaks, the much-anticipated live-action adaptations of Oshi No Ko have been officially confirmed by global streaming giant Amazon and renowned Japanese film studio Toei. The announcement was made on their official Twitter accounts on Jan 24, 2024.
Oshi No Ko is set to receive a a live-action film and drama adaptation in winter 2024.
The drama will be distributed exclusively on Amazon Prime Video worldwide, while Toei will release the film in Japan.
A new visual and cast details were revealed to commemorate the announcement.
Cast includes:
- Nagisa Saito as Ruby
- Asuka Saito as Ai Hoshino
- Kaito Sakurai as Aqua
- Nanoka Hara as Kana Arima
- Mizuki Kayashima as Akane Kurokawa
- ano as Memcho
Oshi no Ko is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump since April 2020, with its chapters collected in thirteen tankōbon volumes as of November 2023.
An anime television series adaptation, produced by Doga Kobo, a studio which was started by former Toei animation members, aired its first 11-episode season from April to June 2023. A second season is set to premiere in 2024.
