In its press release, Nintendo Co., Ltd. revealed that it has acquired the animation studio, Dynamo Pictures, Inc., making it a subsidiary of Nintendo.
The acquisition is expected to close on October 3, 2022. The animation studio’s current capital is of 34.5 million yen. Nintendo has acquired 100% of the outstanding shares of the company except the treasury shares.
Dynamo Pictures was founded on March 18, 2011. Post acquisition, the animation studios’ name will be changed to Nintendo Pictures Co., Ltd. This wing of Nintendo will focus on the visual content produced using Nintendo Intellectual Property.
This acquisition will have a minor effect on Nintendo’s results for this fiscal year.
