Fruits Basket Author Natsuki Takaya Launches New Romance Manga

The series will start publishing on 4th September 2023 and new chapters will be released every Monday.

The author of Fruits Basket manga, Natsuki Takaya, launched a new manga called “Kakumo Chiisaki Sekai ni te (Romaji: In Such A Small World)”. The new manga will be published by Hakusensha Co., Ltd. on their Manga Park app.

The series focuses on the daily life of the main character, 23-year-old Sui Onodera, who has left her home and lives in an apartment. One day, her neighbour Kaoru Seto suddenly barges into Sui’s house. According to him, his pet dog, Tino, has entered Sui’s veranda. Because of this encounter, Kaoru blends into Sui’s life… It is a love story set in an apartment.

Natsuki Takaya first launched Fruits Basket, it tells the story of Tohru Honda, an orphan girl who, after meeting Yuki, Kyo, and Shigure Soma, learns about their Zodiac curse and tries to help them break it.

The manga was serialized in the semi-monthly Japanese shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume, published by Hakusensha, from 1998 to 2006.

The original manga was first adapted into a 26-episode anime television series in 2001, by Studio Deen and directed by Akitaro Daichi. A second anime television series adaptation, produced by TMS Entertainment and directed by Yoshihide Ibata, premiered in April 2019, with its first season airing from April to September 2019, its second season airing from April to September 2020, and its third and final season airing from April to June 2021.

The final season of Fruits Basket anime premiered in the Spring 2021 slot. It had a total of 13 episodes. The final season even managed to surpass Attack On Titan in rankings during its run.
