A new anime film of Hiroshi Hiroyama‘s Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya series was announced on May 21, 2020 on its official website. Prisma Illya is a spin-off of the TYPE-MOON’s Fate/stay night game franchise. A new promotional video and visual was released on the official website and twitter account of Prisma Illya. The plot and release date of the movie has not been disclosed yet.

The two minute PV looks back at the history of the anime series in commemoration of the new movie announcement.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya re-imagines the Fate/stay night character Illyasviel von Einzbern in an alternate universe as a magical girl. Mai Kadowaki who voiced her in the previous installments of the series will be reprising her role. Various other characters from Fate/stay night and its sequels and spin-offs also appear in the series.

Currently 4 seasons of the spin-off anime have been released along with a feature film and an OVA. Crunchyroll is streaming all four seasons of the anime, while Sentai Filmworks released the first seasons on home video.
