I’m really excited for the opportunity to attend and present an award at this year’s Crunchyroll Anime Awards. I’m looking forward to traveling to Tokyo and joining my fellow anime lovers as we celebrate and honor the best anime creators and shows in the world“.

Beyond time and borders, anime allows us to connect and be touched, be excited, and share the same emotions with others, regardless of age or values. Anime has the same potential and appeals that I feel towards music. I hope the wonderful Japanese anime continues to bring joy to many fans around the world,” said Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA. “I consider anime to be one of the cultures that represents Japan, so I am very honored to be chosen as the presenter.”

Checkout the comments from the other line-up below:

  • Iman Vellani:

I think what’s so charming about anime, as a new fan, is the endless stream of choices—you’re forced to be adventurous and constantly discover fresh narratives through genre, art, and characters. It’s why I am beyond thrilled to celebrate this year’s standouts at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards and, of course, add them all to my
ever-growing watchlist!

  • Roland:

I had been working in the nightlife entertainment business in Japan, and after a long period of unsuccessful business, I became an owner of several companies. During the journey to the point where I am now, whenever I hit a wall or felt lonely, anime was the one thing that helped me through it all. As a presenter at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards from the world’s largest anime streaming service, I would be happy to be able to deliver anime works that could help someone who is struggling like I was one day.

  • Aquaria:

I couldn’t be more excited to be participating in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards Pre-Show! When creating looks for my own drag persona, I’m so often inspired by the powerful women and other eccentrically styled characters from my favorite series. As a child, I remember relating to and seeing myself in these queer coded characters.
There are so many instances from my favorite shows where the protagonists and villains would defy gender through their disguises and actions, and as an adult, it’s exciting to make this connection between childhood interests and my current profession.

  • Che Lingo:

I am excited to be a part of the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Anime is a medium that impacted me from visual to audio. It’s grown into a culture that’s impacted with stories and worlds that can inspire so much and has over decades. It means a lot that my work in anime and with Crunchyroll is recognized and appreciated enough to have me in another position to give back again. Anime showed me that freedom exists in places you never thought possible, and demonstrated the tenacity in friendship, albeit fictionally, but the writing would frequently hit home and that sat with me as I grew.

  • Lena Lemon:

Having grown up immersed in the world of anime, witnessing the growth and evolution of the anime community has been truly remarkable. From those early days as a little girl watching Chibi Maruko-Chan and Anpanman, to where I find myself today – being able to turn my genuine passion into a livelihood through creating content for you guys – has been an incredible journey. As one of your co-hosts for the 2024 Crunchyroll Anime Awards Pre-Show, I am thrilled to celebrate with you all the outstanding anime released this past year!

  • Yaeji:

Anime saved me in my loneliest moments of childhood. It inspired me when the realities of western society dulled my imagination. It kept me company through every transition of my life. I’m beyond thrilled to take part at the Anime Awards as anime quite frankly touched every part of my life!

I grew up across the US, Korea, and Japan so my relationship with anime is multifaceted in a way. I’ve watched the same show dubbed in different languages and then subbed. I’ve seen shows get censored in various ways. I’ve revisited the same shows decades later to understand them in a different light. I think because anime has been a constant in my life, (but I’ve changed so much as a person) it’s been a measure to understand myself better. As an adult watching shows now, I’ve also realized that so many of these shows have messages and themes that are inspirational, revolutionary, and queer. They used to get a bad rep when I was growing up (it was a reason to get bullied / my family wasn’t thrilled with me watching anime instead of doing homework), and it’s sometimes puzzling to see the popularity of anime as a genre now, but overall it makes me happy that more people are sharing the same passion for this art as I do.”

  • Ylona Garcia:

Anime has been part of my life since I was born. My family and I love to watch Studio Ghibli movies, Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. When I was going through a very dark point in my life, watching anime not only helped me feel better but made me want to get better. It taught me so many lessons and gave me so many perspectives. Anime is one of the many things I’m grateful for because it quite literally saved my life. One of my favorite quotes from my favorite anime of all time is ‘I don’t quit, I don’t run, I never go back on my word. That’s my ninja way.’ -Naruto. If it wasn’t for words like this constantly repeating in my head, I wouldn’t be here today. And that’s why I’m forever grateful to celebrate anime with everyone at the Anime Awards!

Moreover, in celebration of the Anime Awards nominees, a selection of nominated series is available for free streaming on Crunchyroll’s AVOD (Ad-Supported Video On Demand) platform until March 2, 2024.
