Sosuke Toka’s coming-of-age, fantasy manga Ranking of Kings will be going on an hiatus. It was revealed in its latest combined release of chapter 230, 231 on the official website of Manga Hack.
The return date of the manga is yet to be announced, hence delaying the release of chapter 232 indefinitely.
A rough translation of the image is given below:
I will be on a break for a while. Thank you for your patience.
– Sosuke Toka
Ranking of Kings is a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Sosuke Toka. It has been serialized online via Echoes’ user-submitted Manga Hack website since May 2017 and has been collected in fifteen tankobon volumes by Enterbrain.
An anime television series adaptation produced by Wit Studio aired from October 2021 to March 2022 on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block. A series of special episodes, titled Ranking of Kings: The Treasure Chest of Courage, will premiere in April 2023.
MAL describes the plot of the manga as:
The web manga centers around Bojji, a deaf, powerless prince who cannot even wield a children’s sword. As the firstborn son, he strives hard and dreams of becoming the world’s greatest king. However, people mutter about him behind his back as “a good-for-nothing prince” and “no way he can be king.”
Bojji is able to make his first ever friend, “Kage” (shadow)—a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well. (Kage is a survivor of the Kage assassin clan that was all but wiped out. No longer a killer, Kage now makes ends meet by stealing.) The story follows Bojji’s coming-of-age as he meets various people in his life, starting with his fateful encounter with Kage.
