It has been announced that the box office revenue for the anime film That Time I Reincarnated As A Slime Scarlet Bond Movie has surpassed 1.33 billion yen approximately 12,178,000 US dollars
The author of the original novel, Fuse-san, commented, “Although producing the film was a new experience and took a lot of time, it feels rewarding that so many people have come to see it.“
The manga artist, Kawakami Yasuki, added, “I am surprised by the amazing number of one million attendees. If it were a manga, it would have been read twice over with the eyes bulging. I am truly grateful to everyone who has watched it and plans to watch it!“
Furthermore, the number of attendees has also exceeded one million.
“The anime film broke box office records with over 1.33 billion yen and an attendance of more than one million,” director Kazuhisa Kikuchi reported.
The film version is a completely new story, with a story concept by Fuse-san. It was released on November 25, 2022.
It was also announced that from December 23, as the 4th gift for visitors, Rimuru and Viole’s Christmas clear files drawn by Mr. Yasuki Kawakami, will be distributed.
Streaming giant Crunchyroll had earlier announced on June 29, 2022 that it will screen That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime: Scarlet Bond (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Guren no Kizuna) movie in “all major global territories” (except Asia) in early 2023.
The theme song of the movie was also released earlier which is performed by MindaRyn.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime light novels, also known as TenSura, are written by Fuse, and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The story is about a salaryman who is murdered and reincarnates in a sword and sorcery world as a slime with unique powers and gathers allies to build his own nation of monsters.
Twenty volumes have been released as of September 2022. The light novel has been licensed in North America by Yen Press, who published the first volume in December 2017.
An anime adaptation by by Eight Bit aired from October 2018 to March 2019. That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2 aired from January to September 2021.
The staff of the anime announced on the official website on Nov 9, 2022, that the series will be returning for a 3rd season.
A new key visual featuring Hinata Sakaguchi confronting Rimuru has also been unveiled to commemorate the announcement.
