Yoshihiro Togashi announced on his official twitter account on July 26, 2022 that he will continue to work on a new batch consisting ten more chapters of Hunter x Hunter manga.
Togashi also revealed that he finished penning the first batch of 10 chapters that were previously announced. This means the manga will get up to 20 new chapters on its return.
“I’ve completed drawing characters of 10 chapters for now. There may be some corrections! I will continue to work on the next 10 chapters,” Togashi wrote.
The author added that he will keep updating on the status of the manuscripts of the new chapters.
Ever since he joined Twitter, Togashi has been consistently uploading images of his roughly drawn, often undecipherable, manuscripts on to micro-blogging site with page numbers written on the bottom.
He revealed a sketch of Kurapika on July 25.
However, there has been no concrete date set for the manga’s return nor the time it will take for the manuscripts to be made into chapters. Neither Shueisha nor Shonen Jump have released an official statement about Hunter x Hunter manga returning from hiatus.
Hunter x Hunter written and illustrated by Togashi, has been serialized in Shonen Jump since March 1998. The manga had its fair share of hiatuses since 2006. The last chapter of Hunter x Hunter released on November 2018, and has since been on a hiatus till now.
The manga’s chapters have been collected into 34 tankobon volumes.
