The United Kingdom based ITV Television network signed a deal with Anime Ltd. of Glaswegian origin for 500 episodes and 200 hours of anime series and movies. The series and movies will stream on ITVX.
The anime content to be available on ITVX contains a variety of 20+ anime series and movies. It includes titles like, “Escaflowne”, “Lupin III Part 6”, “Megalobox”, Shinichiro Watanabe’s “Cowboy Bebop” and Hideaki Anno’s “Gunbuster“. Thus, making ITVX the largest AVOD based anime streamer in UK.
This deal is also the first advertising revenue sharing contract made by ITVX.
The director of Content Partnerships and Streaming, Laura Franses says she is delighted about the deal with Anime Ltd. and that it helps develop a new business model for ITVX.
