After the successful delivery of the TV anime Vinland Saga in 2019 based on Makoto Yukimura‘s popular manga of the same name, fans have been eagerly waiting for a season 2 update.
Around the end of the millennium, Viking the mightiest but most atrocious tribe had been outbreaking everywhere. Thorfinn, the son of the greatest warrior, lived his childhood on the battlefield. He was seeking the land of reverie known as Vinland. This is the story of a true warrior in the age of turmoil.
According to a Tweet, which was written in English by the director on Twitter Yabuta, “season 2 plays a very important role in Vinland Saga,” meaning the director understands just how important the upcoming arc is to the broader story of the entire series. Luckily, Yabuta notes that he expects that “enough episodes” has been commissioned to showcase each character’s story arc “carefully.”
On September 22, the official Twitter account of Yukimura assured that season 2 won’t skip any material from the manga.
The official website released only a production confirmation announcement video for the upcoming Vinland Saga Season 2 TV anime. The 2minute video doesn’t reveal any major details about the plot but gives a recap of the iconic scenes of the first season.

The second season of Vinland Saga is predicted to release at the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.
Cast & Crew:
Shuuhei Yabuta (Vinland Saga, Inuyashiki) is returning to direct the new season, with Takahiko Abiru (Hunter x Hunter (2011), Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season animation director) also returning as the animation director and character designer.
Vinland Saga season 2 will possibly be animated by Studio MAPPA.
Vinland Saga Season 2 Early Announcements
On July 5, the official Twitter account for Vinland Saga caught fans off guard with an update. The officials have announced that Vinland Saga will return with a Season 2 very soon. In the ” Vinland Saga 2nd Anniversary” project the TV anime confirmed that the series is in production.
The director of Vinland Saga Shuuhei Yabuta tweeted three illustrations of the main characters in September 2020. He hid a small easter egg somewhere, and he invited his followers to find it.
According to what CineTalk mentions, on the bottom left corner of each artwork, a Nordic Script symbol is present, which represents one of the English letter sounds. According to the rules, it spells to be “sea son two”.

Vinland Saga adapts Makoto Yukimura’s action-adventure viking-themed manga, which he originally launched in Weekly Shounen Magazine in April 2005 before switching it to Monthly Afternoon in December that year.
As of July 2021, the series has been compiled into twenty-five bound volumes. Vinland Saga has a cumulative 5.5 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.
