The official website of My Hero Academia revealed the theme songs for the upcoming 6th season of the anime on Aug 24, 2022.

The opening theme is Hitamuki, and will be performed by the Japanese rock band SUPER BEAVER. Hitamuki is described as a rock tune with a powerful message that asserts “living life to the fullest”.

The ending theme will be “SKETCH” by Kiro Akiyama, which is described as a medium rock song that expresses the importance of standing still amidst the heat of hand-clenching moments.

The website has also put out artist comments regarding their involvement in the theme songs.

SUPER BEAVER’s comment:

Thank you very much for your support. In the midst of so many intersecting thoughts and histories, in the midst of so much upheaval that even the positions of good and evil seem nebulous, there is a heart that still does not give up on its wishes. How will the hope that is connected by earnestness save each one of them? I am very honoured to be involved in this work. I wrote the song with all my heart and soul. Please give me your best regards!

Kiro Akiyama’s comment:

I am very happy to be involved in this wonderful work. I wrote about the small but importance of “stopping” behind the heat that makes you clench your hands unintentionally. I hope that every time this song is played, time to reflect on something will pass slowly so that we can make the best start again and again.

 My Hero Academia Season 6 will start airing from Oct 1, 2022. The sixth season will be broadcast every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. JST on Yomiuri TV and NTV 29 stations nationwide.

Crunchyroll will also be streaming My Hero Academia Season 6 in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania and CIS in October 2022.

Like the previous seasons, Studio Bones is in charge of animating the series. My Hero Academia Season 6 will adapt the war arc from the manga.

The cast from previous seasons will also be reprising their role in My Hero Academia Season 6.

My Hero Academia is a manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump since July 2014, with its chapters collected into 33 tankōbon volumes as of February 2022. The series has numerous spin-off manga, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions.

The manga received a TV anime adaptation by Studio Bones. Its first season aired in Japan from April to June 2016, followed by a second season from April to September 2017, third season from April to September 2018, fourth season from October 2019 to April 2020, and a fifth season from March to September 2021.

It has also received three animated films, titled My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, and My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission respectively. There are plans for a live-action film by Legendary Entertainment.

As of January 2022, the manga had over 65 million copies in circulation worldwide.
