Studio Ghibli took to twitter on Nov 10, 2022, to post a small video on their official handle, teasing a collaboration with American production company Luscasfilm, which is known for producing the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies.
The video posted by Studio Ghibli does not reveal any kind of details about the collaboration, or in what form it will be. It just flashes the logo of Lucasfilm, followed by Ghibli’s own logo.
Lucasfilm is currently a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios. Studio Ghibli too isn’t a stranger to the Disney name, as the latter has often been a distribution partner for the anime created by Ghibli.
Studio Ghibli is currently producing a movie, helmed by Hayao Miyazaki, titled How Do You Live? It is based on a novel of the same name Yoshino Genzaburo.
The animation work of the movie began in 2016, with Miyazaki coming out of retirement. He is working on the movie for his grandson, as a way of telling him that “Grandpa is moving onto the next world soon but he is leaving behind this film”.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that the movie was still under production.
