Shueisha, a leading publisher in Japan, is set to launch DEAIBOOKS, an AI-driven manga recommendation service, scheduled to debut on April 25, 2024.
With the theme “Encounter Good Manga in Life,” DEAIBOOKS aims to provide users with personalized manga recommendations tailored to their preferences. This is achieved through the assistance of an AI-powered librarian apprentice named Aihara Pitari, who will engage in conversations with users to better understand their tastes and interest.
The character design for Aihara Pitari is done by Oshi No Ko manga illustrator Mengo Yokoyari, with the character’s voice provided by Miku Ito.
DEAIBOOKS will feature over 5,000 manga titles, ranging from new releases to classics, all available in digital format from Shueisha.
Additionally, the service will continually update its library with new releases each month.
To celebrate the launch of DEAIBOOKS, Shueisha has announced a special campaign wherein Aihara Pitari will make introductory phone calls to lucky participants on the service’s launch day. To be eligible for a call, users simply need to repost a designated post on Shueisha Manga’s official Twitter account by April 24.
