The official website and Twitter handle of Quintessential Quintuplets announced that the Season 2 of the anime which was scheduled to air in October 2020 has been postponed to January 2021 due to the effects of COVID-19 in Japan.
Thank you for your continued support of the TV anime Gotōbun no Hanayome ∬’. Broadcasting of ‘Gotōbun no Hanayome ∬’ scheduled to start broadcasting from October 2020 was postponed to January 2021 due to the spread of the new coronavirus COVID-19,” the message on the official website of the anime read.
The first season of Quintessential Quintuplets had aired in January 2019 and it received a positive response from the fanbase prompting TBS to renew the show for a second season. The cast from the first season will be returning for the second season too. It will be directed by Kaori and animated by Bibury Animation Studio.
Illustrated and created by Negi Haruba, the series follows the daily life of a high school student Futaro Uesugi who is hired as a private tutor for a group of quintuplets who perform poorly academically.
The manga was launched in Kodansha’s weekly shonen magazine in August 2017, and has been collected into 13 tankobon volumes as of January 2020.
