VFX-Japan revealed a total of twenty works that were selected across seven categories for the “VFX-Japan Award 2022” on Jan 31, 2022; with Godzilla Singular Point, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time, Earwig & The Witch selected in two of its animation categories.
Godzilla Singular Point and Disney’s Drumadillo were selected in the “TV / distribution program animation CG” category, whereas Poupelle Of The Chimney Town, Earwig & The Witch, Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 Thrice Upon A Time, and Belle were selected in the “theatrical release animation film section” category.
Additionally, the live-action adaptation of The Promised Neverland was selected for the excellency award in the “Theatrical release live-action movie” category, along with Brave: Gunjyo Senki, Great Yokai War: Guardians and Rurouni Kenshin: The Final.
The VFX-JAPAN Award was established in 2013, and this year’s ceremony will mark the 10th installment of the awards. It aims to celebrate and recognize the best VFX and CG works in the fields of live-action film, video games, commercials, animated film and television.
The awards will be handed out to the works that were released in 2021. Up to four works can be selected in each of the seven categories.
The winners of VFX Japan Award will be decided by a voting process. Corporate members, individual members, directors and special members will be a part of the committee that votes. The winners will be announced on the official website of VFX-JAPAN in early March.
