The official website of the upcoming anime adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan manga unveiled its very first promo video along with key visual on March 15, 2024.

The PV depicts Okarun and Momo encountering and fleeing from Alien Serpo and Turbo Granny. It also showcases Okarun in his transformed state.

Dandadan anime is set to release in October 2024. The anime will also be streamed on Netflix and Crunchyroll.

Main cast members include:

• Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase
• Natsuki Hanae as Okarun
• Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo-Granny
• Kazuya Nakai as Alien Serpo

Fuga Yamashiro will serve as the director of the anime adaptation, with Hiroshi Seko in charge of scripts. Kensuke Ushio will compose the music, and Naoyuki Onda will handle character designs, with Yoshimichi Kameda designing aliens and supernatural entities.

Dandadan is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ service since April 2021, with its chapters collected into 11 tankobon volumes as of August 2023.

MAL describes the plot of the manga as:

After being aggressively rejected, Momo Ayase finds herself sulking when she stumbles across a boy being bullied. Saved by her rash kindness, the occult-obsessed boy attempts to speak to her about supernatural interests he believes they share. Rejecting his claims, Ayase proclaimed that she instead is a believer in ghosts, starting an argument between the two over which is real.

In a bet to determine who is correct, the two decide to separately visit locations associated with both the occult and the supernatural—Ayase visiting the former and the boy visiting the latter. When the two reach their respective places, it turns out that neither was wrong and that both the occult and ghosts do exist.

This marks the beginning of Ayase and the boy’s adventure, as they attempt to fix the surreal, supernatural, and occult elements around them to return to a normal life.
