Comic Market 102 Announces Dates For August 2023 Return

The 102nd instalment of Comic Market, commonly known as Comiket, announced the dates for its summer exhibition for 2023. The event will be held over two days, on Aug 12 and 13.

According to the information revealed on the official twitter account of the event, if the COVID-19 regulations are relaxed by the authorities, the event will aim “towards the maximum capacity of the venue at 120,000 participants” per day.

The summer Comiket of 2022 had a total attendance of 170,000, as compared to the 750,000 people who attended in 2019. COVID-19 regulations had restricted the number of people who attended the event.

The winter Comiket for 2022, Comic Market 101, is all set to take place of Dec 30 and 31, 2022. The event’s schedule was also put out on the official Twitter account!

Comic Market, more commonly known as Comiket, is a semiannual doujinshi convention, usually held at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan in August and December every year.

A grassroots market focused on the sale of doujin (self-published) works, Comiket is a not-for-profit fan convention administered by the volunteer-run Comic Market Preparatory Committee (ComiketPC). Inaugurated on 21 December 1975 with an estimated 700 attendees, Comiket has since grown to become the largest fan convention in the world.
