A Silent Voice Anime Film To Get 5th Anniversary Screening In US

Tickets are now available for the screening across the country.

A Silent Voice anime film will be getting a 5th anniversary screening across 300 theatres nationally in the United States on Oct 12, 2022.

The screening will take place at the latest instalment of AX Cinema Nights, an in-person movie event series celebrating the best new and classic anime films by bringing them to theaters across North America.

The movie’s screening is being carried out as a partnership between Iconic Events Releasing, a company specializing in distributing special engagement theatrical events to theatres, Anime Expo and anime distributor Eleven Arts.

The tickets for A Silent Voice anime film’s 5th anniversary screening are now available for booking across the United States.

A key visual and a trailer have also been released to commemorate the announcement.

A Silent Voice is an anime film produced by Kyoto Animation, directed by Naoko Yamada and written by Reiko Yoshida, featuring character designs by Futoshi Nishiya and music by Kensuke Ushio.

The English dub cast of the movie includes Robbie Daymond (as Shoya Ishida), Lexi Marman Cowden (as Shoko Nishimiya), Kristen Sullivan (as Yuzuru Nishimiya), Graham Halstead (as Tomohiro Nagatsuka), Kira Buckland (as Naoka Ueno), Melissa Hope (as Miyoko Sahara), Amber Lee Connors (as Miki Kawai), Max Mittelman (as Satoshi Mashiba), Michael Sinterniklaas (as Kazuki Shimada), and Sara Cravens (as Miyoko Ishida).

Based on the best-selling manga series by Yoshitoki Ōima, the movie received a Best Animated Film nomination from the Japanese Film Academy upon its initial release in 2017.

The film covers elements of coming of age and psychological drama, dealing with themes of bullying, disability, forgiveness, mental health, suicide, and platonic love. It follows the story of a former bully turned social outcast, who decides to reconnect and befriend the deaf girl he had victimized years prior.
